Thank you to those of you who watched for the flowerbike and stopped by for dahlia tubers and fresh flowers today. I will aim to be open Fridays and Saturdays through June, unless the bloom abundance becomes too much to bear alone. 😉 🤞

Snag some goodies at the flowershed tomorrow—I will keep stocking until they sell out!

1257 Frankfort Hwy—look for the 🌸 🚲 at the Gateway Arch. Self-serve shed open 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday in June. Cash (preferred, exact change, “Pay Here” slot in the counter) or Venmo (consider adding a little to cover the 2% processing fee). Sales tax included in price.

Still loads of big healthy dahlia tubers available at the flowershed! Only $5 each when you buy four or more.

I am behind in returning messages. I have been busy celebrating this little farm kid, who just graduated—summa cm laude with highest honors on her thesis—from Harvard. (Next stop = Oxford!)

Promise to respond in the next day or two, as I am able, on the long move home.

Hello, flower friends. I had hoped to open the flowershed this weekend, but so many of you lovely people ordered arrangements this week, that I am running low on blooms. It’s honestly been a tough week for my family, AND I now REALLY need to focus on getting all of my seedlings in the ground before…I go watch my baby girl graduate summa cm laude from Harvard!
So the flowershed will not be open for drive up business this weekend or next. I AM certain by the time I return, though, that the gardens will be blooming again. Stay tuned to this space for updates.

Tulips. Often a muddy, wet, cold, backbreaking job—even the harvesting. (It’s not all just tiptoeing like Tiny Tim.) And that’s IF you manage to save them from the deer, moles, and voles. So, if you ever wonder why spring blooms may run a bit more on the dear side of the wallet, I invite you to help me plant, protect, or harvest with me!!

Flowershed is stocked today with the sweetest spring bouquets.

I have so enjoyed seeing my flower friends arriving at the flowershed this weekend—even IF mother nature slowed my tulip roll down more than usual. The silver lining in that is I will have plenty of tulips for your direct orders and will be open for the next few weekends.

If you need an arrangement, just message me. I am happy to accommodate, but in the meantime—back to planting furiously!

Needed some self-care last night after another long planting day followed by a night again covering baby flower seedlings with frost cloth. A quick garden-grown soup was just the answer for the bone-deep chill. Pac choi, wild ramps, onions, chilis, ginger, nori and sesame (didn’t grow those last two 😜), topped with my ramp salt and homemade kimchi. I ate the entire pot! (I can’t eat my bread anymore, but she wanted to be in the photo.)
Get all of those cold-hardy greens and veggies direct seeded ASAP so you can shop your garden this season. It’s still hitting below-freezing temperatures at night, so wait to transplant any warm season crops like peppers, tomatoes, squash, beans, basil. A good indicator for planting those tender crops is when lilac and lily of the valley are in full bloom.
