I'm sure you know by now... but we are card QUEENS over here at Flower Snobs.... SOMETIMES a card comes out that you show EVERYONE who walks in and then it sells out- QUICK! So, we reordered them and they are here! So, screen shot it and make it your background, send it to a friend who needs to hear it... because they do. Swing in and pick one up, frame it, and look at it daily to remind you how courageous you are! We all need to hear this, some days.

Again—my page, my rules….So yes, on a flower-heavy week, I’m posting NOT FLOWERS for the third day in a row- because why not celebrate the people who make us bloom? We’ve done the superhero nurses, we’ve done the ANGEL teachers (the ones who taught us the difference between “angels” and “angles”), now it’s time for the next level: moms. And yes, I’m biased, because my mom, Holli Ackerman is basically a LEGEND. But not everyone got that deal. Some moms gave us their best, and some days that “best” looked different—maybe not what we thought we deserved. But here’s the thing: whether your mom was a nurturing saint or a velociraptor trainer doing her best, we survived. Now we get to take that “best” and raise it—whether that means cuddles or just keeping our own little velociraptors from eating us alive. Cheers! Raise that glass(sippy cup) to every version of motherhood—it’s messy, raw, terrifying and beautiful.

We encourage you to share about your momma, mother-figure, caretaker or your experience being a mom - right here! Tag anyone to brag on them!

This week is for the teachers!
The ones who bought supplies with their own money…
The ones who stayed late, showed up early and are still answering emails to parents at 10:45pm ????
The ones who don’t just teach our kids math and reading and science but how to be human in a world that feels strange, heavy, confusing and STRAIGHT CHAOTIC at times.
Educators, babysitters, therapists, referees, hype-men. You notice the quiet kid. You redirect the wild ones. You show up running on caffeine, dry shampoo and PURE WILL POWER.

Lets be honest- they deserve way more than an apple and a scribbled “thank you” on a crumpled up work sheet.

Some of you changed the trajectory of someone’s life.. .and you probably don’t even know it.

So if there’s a teacher who: Believed in you when you didn’t, showed up for your kid like they were your own or just survived this school year without losing their mind (honestly a win in itself)...

Maybe send flowers.
Or a note.
Or at minimum… Don’t email them at 10 pm, tonight.
Let them rest .

Teachers- you are chaotic good. You are underpaid and WILDLY impactful. You are MAGIC.
We see you. We appreciate you.

As for our group of Flower Snobs here-
We will ABSOLUTELY help you show up with something better than a last- minute gas station gift.

So, this week is PACKED with Celebrations, memories, fun and acknowledgement for THE BIG IMPORTANT ONES!
Because this page is run by me, Carlie, With MUCH help from my “techy” more patient- twin sister, I get to pick what we post…. And this week, I chose to NOT make the post about flowers, but the ones receiving them…. They are who matter, anyway. The flowers are just the extra…. But the reason?- it’s You. You reading this- you are or - you know or you love someone in these categories:

This week is to celebrate the people who care for us IN THE BIG PICTURE:
Nurses Week: 6th through 12th
Teacher appreciation week: May 4 - 8th
Mother’s day: every. Single. Day. BUT May 10th… specifically.

Let’s start with Nurses week-
I am positive that I would not be able to tag the amount of nurses that I love and who have impacted my life in one post, but have mentioned them several times throughout the journey and still think about them, daily. I love it when they come into the shop and I get to hug them. I love seeing the personal, familial and occupational victories on all of the socials! I ADORE every nurse I had and (except the OT guy who tried to kill my chunky ass going up an EMPIRE STATE BUILDINGS amount of stairs) and who helped NOT ONLY me but my terrified family in one of the scariest times of our lives. These nurses do the work of so many people for so many patients ALL at once and then keep coming back the next day. I have had the pleasure of making friends with so many at Harris floor 7 as well as The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and all the places in between.
Spoiled, is what I have been. Me and my family were spoiled with such an amazing group of nurses that we now HERO worship them ALL. Nurses quietly hold so many of us up during difficult times. At one point of our 38 day stay on floor 7 of the HEALING HOUSE there were five nurses in my room at one time, listening to music, putting a puzzle together chatting and laughing- like a regular saturday night…not one surrounded in questions, meds and needles and IV stands…they took the cloud of worry over us and turned it into a rainbow, repeatedly. They answered every question we asked (chemo brain is real) over and over again and were happy to do so. The connection we felt with these nurses during this time was healing. They took their “JOB” and made it a way of life. These beautiful souls come and care for all of us and then have to go home and live their own lives, all while carrying our weight on their shoulders. They are so. Effing. Strong.
I am fairly certain Super Heroes wear scrubs, overly expensive tennis shoes and a cute, snarky lanyard. I would put posters of them on my walls if there were such a thing!!!!!
Thank you to every single one of you. For making your lives about something bigger. Something that makes an incredible difference!

The nurses in this photo have seen me at my worst, at my medicinal loopiest, in major pain and with tears coating my cheeks. And they still chose to show up, ask me if my p**p was normal (EVERYDAY) and to care. THANK YOU is not a big enough statement for how we feel…You are the embodiment of HOPE.

Please feel free to share a story with the nurse/nurses in your life that make a difference!

The family of this wedding have showed up for us in an incredibly scary moment, in ways that we cannot fathom....still. To be picked to do their wedding was emotional and exciting- but most of all- MEANINGFUL.
We can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be your friends as well as florist!
