This weekend we styled our last event as Two Sisters Rust and Dust. For the past 5 years we have decorated the Texas Parks and Recreation (TRAPS) North region conference. This year it was in Rockwall and had a lighthouse, sailboat and music theme. With all of the craziness in my life, we really relied heavily on family support to pull this one off. We had a craft day Dale Palmer Bell’s house, with my aunt Rexanne and Calie, Mom and Me (Sheri) making lighthouses and sailboats. Later, sister, LeAnne and Mom cut and assembled the music notes. On the day of the event, Karen, Great niece Ashlyn, Calie, Mom and I arrived at 6 am for setup. This year was a little different because both Calie and I were presenters at the conference. For me, it was a great opportunity for focus on my future, and I hope giving presentations is part of it! All in all, a fun and exciting last event that we could not have done without the help of our family!

Yesterday we hauled Two Sisters Rust and Dust cute but dirty little vintage trailer over to the estate sale. We had big plans for this little trailer for our business, but sadly, never got to finish (or even start) this one. Yesterday it was a dirty, hot mess. Today, after a lot of water and elbow grease (and a fantastic cleaner I found), she is spiffed up and ready to be adopted for her next adventure! Be sure you take a look at all of the pictures J & S Estate Sales
has posted. They may have to restock each evening to fit it all in, so there will be new stuff (mostly from the business) added daily. If you ever need an Estate sale company, Stephanie and Jerry are the best!!!

We enjoyed tonight’s couples shower. The hostesses did such a cute job of picking the black and white picnic theme. The rain forced the “plan B” for an indoor picnic but no one seemed to mind. With a few added Two Sisters decor items, the hostess crew did such cute table arrangements. The menu of Brisket, smoked chicken, Mac and cheese, BBQ beans and the fix-ins (including Sheri’s homemade pickles) followed the nacho bar appetizers. The hostesses provided dessert, including some custom petit fours and the cutest mini mason jar cheesecake parfaits. And the photo was was so clever! This was a return event- we did a couples bridal shower for one of the hostesses 2 years ago. Two of the girls came into the kitchen and got so excited to see the homemade pickles. They remembered them from the shower 2 years ago and said they were just as good as they remembered. Such a compliment for this humble cook! Thanks to my “hired help” today Willis

Aloha! Tonight we hosted a Luau for Community Hospice of Texas in their new training space. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Hospice care. What a fun and festive party! On the menu: Kahlua Pork sliders, Aloha rice, Luau baked beans, Island chicken salad, Hawaiian macaroni salad, and a tropical fruit tower. And for dessert- Banana Cake with cream cheese icing, Tropical cobbler and dark chocolate dipped pineapple slices. The styling for this event was done by Dale Palmer Bell - aka- Mom! She is enjoying being the design assistant! It was a fun party!

We loved this reception set up in the Lone Star room. This delicate vintage style includes Tea cups and pots filled with pastel flowers, lace and doilies, books and birds, suitcases and flip flops (for dancing). We added in the chair covers and blush sashes and our special family project that came to be known as “chair mums!” This came from back in our high school days when Dale Palmer Bell and Judy Baker made homecoming mums at Judale. This process was very similar in vintage fabrics and textures. Mom, RexAnn Brownlee, and LeAnne Beason joined in and spent 2 days making 75 chair mums (and talking and laughing). But this whole look turned out so beautifully! Congratulations, Susie Green Simpkins and Jim! Thank you for letting us bring your reception vision to life!

Today was my favorite day...Flower day! We are looking forward to tomorrow (well, actually today’s) wedding reception. It’s going to be a pretty one! There was even a family project that Dale Palmer Bell, RexAnn Brownlee and Bell Beason helped with this week. I will post that picture from the venue. And all of this was done in Mom’s newly designed craft room. There is a blog coming about that experience soon.

When our flowers got delivered this week, they mistakenly doubled our order. It was like the vendor somehow knew we scheduled a floral arranging class today at Senior Center. So much fun with these ladies.

We had such fun with our Spring Rustic wedding at THE SPRINGS Event Venues. When taking about colors, our Bride Heather would always say “bright.” Such fun! Congratulations, Heather and Chance.
