Hot take: Not every act of resistance has to be loud to be impactful. We absolutely need those brave voices that speak out + those bodies that show up in the fight for change. They inspire us, push us forward + remind us of the power of standing together in courage + solidarity. Many of you know my feet + mouth don't stay still or quiet for long đ But then I look at the quieter, yet still profound, strength of people like my husbandâ who intentionally weaves words + acts of kindness, truth + compassion into their every day interactions with others.
While many of us have a passion for active advocacy + visible resistance (& I am SO damn lucky to know + love so many of you)â let's not forget the quieter, yet essential, forms of resistance happening all around us. I think about the moms + dads who are raising their kiddos to embody empathy + compassion despite the apathy + indifference that surrounds us. Theyâre nurturing the next generation of kind-hearted humans who will carry these values into the world.
And those who pray fervently, seeking strength + guidance. Their unwavering faith + hope can create a profound shift in the energy around us. Their prayers wrap us in strength + protection and give us the fortitude to presevere when we're weary. It's a reminder that sometimes powerful actions can happen in the stillness of our hearts.
Letâs remember that change is a collective effort, and it takes all kinds to make it happen. Itâs so important to acknowledge + affirm each otherâs effortsâeven when they look different from our own. Every act, no matter how seemingly small, contributes to the bigger picture in standing together solidarity + love.
