Usually, I like to post my photos in the order I created them… but this story was just too sweet to wait! ❤️

A couple in their 70s joined our Face Painting Duo Challenge, and the final reveal was absolutely adorable...The girlfriend was SO happy when she saw her boyfriend’s design. She explained:

“I’m the Tinker Bell on your rainbow, and I’m the spider on your spider web! That’s why I chose Spider-Man for you!” 🧚‍♀️🌈🕷️

What a beautiful interpretation of their designs—and of their love story.

We ended up taking almost 10 photos together using both their phones and ours. And when the crowd started cheering for them… they even shared a kiss right there! 😘

Moments like this are exactly why I love face painting. It’s not just about the paint—it’s about the little stories, the laughter, and the memories we get to be part of.

I truly hope I get to see them again at this event every time! 🎨

“I wanna a lizard.”🦎

After going back and forth between a unicorn, a mermaid, and a butterfly, she quietly—and very firmly—made her choice.

It’s not a request I get very often from little girls.

As I started painting, Mom and big sister told me why.

That morning, she had gone with her sister to soccer practice, and a little green lizard climbed onto her fingertip and stayed with her for an entire hour.

She wanted to bring it home, but Mom and Dad said no.

So I asked her, “You want to paint a lizard… to remember the day you met it. Forever. Right?”

Her eyes were still closed, but she gave me a very determined nod. ❤️

I never thought face painting could help a child hold onto such a special little moment.

I guess I still have a lot to learn about the mystery of art. ✨

Having TONS of photos sitting on my laptop is one thing… having the time (and mood!) to tell all the stories behind them is another! 😂

So, I’m starting a little series! ❤️

It all started with these two besties…

One warm, humid summer afternoon at the Japan Festival in UDM, two young moms stopped by our tent with their little ones. Then they came up with a brilliant idea:

Pick a face-painting design for each other—and NO PEEKING!😆

Once both moms were painted, they had to guess what was on each other’s faces. Their husbands and kids knew the secret, too—and I was amazed the kids didn’t give anything away!

The final reveal?
🐉 Creamy white & fiery red dragon
🦋 Silvery white & blue butterfly

We had SO much fun that we started doing this challenge with more and more people. Not everyone wanted photos, but almost everyone LOVED the game!

So here we go…
