☀ Sunday Morning in the Word — The Lord’s Blessing
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee. — Numbers 6:24–25 (KJV)
These words were spoken as a blessing over the people of Israel—a reminder that their security, provision, and peace came from the Lord Himself. It wasn’t a wishful hope; it was a declaration of God’s covenant care.
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee.”
What comfort there is in knowing that God not only gives good gifts, but also guards what He gives. His keeping hand protects, sustains, and watches over His people.
“The Lord make his face shine upon thee.”
To have His face shine is to experience His favor—to walk in the light of His presence. And when His grace rests upon us, we are strengthened to live faithfully in a world that often pulls us in the opposite direction.
This blessing doesn’t promise a life free of difficulty. It promises something better: the nearness of God. His blessing is not merely material—it is relational. It is the assurance that we belong to Him and live under His gracious care.
May your Sunday be filled with the steady peace that comes from resting under His blessing. 💛
