There is something so special about a "Just Us" moment...
I love weddings of all shapes and sizes, but I have a huge soft spot for elopements and micro-weddings.

I had such a great premarital counseling session yesterday! I love getting to sit down with couples and really dive into what makes their specific relationship tick. Every couple has a different vision for their "forever," and today’s pair decided to go the route of a Covenant Marriage.

In Arkansas (one of only three states that does this, along with Louisiana and Arizona), it’s an optional path for those who want to add an extra layer of intentionality to their vows. It involves a legal commitment to seek counseling and work through the hard stuff before ever considering walking away. It takes away getting a "no fault" divorce.

Whether you are looking into a Covenant Marriage or a traditional ceremony, I believe every marriage deserves a strong start. As an officiant, I see a lot of weddings. I see the big gestures and the perfect photos. But tonight? Tonight I saw something better.
​I saw a first dance where the bride sat with her groom, trading the "traditional" look for a moment of genuine connection. It reminded me that the meaning of a marriage isn't found in how it looks to the crowd, but in how it feels to the two people in the center of it.
​Love doesn’t have a standard shape. It looks like showing up, meeting each other where you are, and holding on tight!
