Wanting to plan a magazine worthy wedding day? Here are a few tips to help you elevate your wedding design.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Chose a sophisticated color pallet,l that compliments the feel, season or location of your wedding, typically five or six colors that are weaved throughout all the details of your day. This includes your bridal party, florals, table settings, decor, stationary, wedding day details, cocktails and even food.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Invest in fresh florals. For many couples flowers are an absolute must for a beautiful wedding day, but take it from me, faux flowers just don’t photograph as well as fresh florals. They always look fake, and they can also end up being even more expensive than the real thing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Consider what everyone will be wearing during your getting ready photos. Pictures of bridesmaids in beautiful silk robes or matching pajama sets are more elegant and cohesive than random outfits. This also makes for a great opportunity to apply your color pallet and is a beautiful bridesmaid gift.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Plan out you wedding day details with care. This will elevate the look of your day in your wedding album, and also will help to tell your story in a personal and meaningful way. A new wedding day perfume is one of my absolute favorite details to incorporate into wedding photos and makes a beautiful and memorable wedding day keepsake.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Incorporate a unique detail or event into your wedding day. This will make it exciting and memorable for both you and your guests. Unique themes, destinations, entertainment, activities and food are all incredible ways you could consider making your day even more unique and noteworthy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love helping my couples make decisions that elevate the look and feel of their day, so that the memories we make and capture are exactly what dreams are made of. Have questions about how to make your wedding day images more elegant or personal? Send a DM! I’d love to help.

A little sneak peak behind the scenes today…

On my way to a destination wedding in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where I get to work with some of the most amazing wedding professionals and all time favorite people.

As always, I get so caught up in what I’m working on, I forget to share stories of all the incredible work behind the scenes. But today, it’s my personal goal to share at least one!

What if I told you there was a way to make sure you took better wedding day photos? Well, you're in luck! Because I have plenty to share with you.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION

When you plan an engagement session with your wedding day photographer, you get to experience first hand how they work. You also get to see what it will be like taking pictures with your fiancé, and give you both the opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera. Come the day of your wedding, you'll know just what to do, and being more relaxed will result in more natural, authentic looking photos.

UNPLUGGED CEREMONY

Ask your guests to kindly put their phones away. This way, they can be more present in the moment, and your pictures will be more focused on you saying "I do" than all the cell phones in the air.

FAMILY FORMALS LIST

Creating a family formals list with your photographer will help ensure all your most important people are photographed on your wedding day. It also helps the process go more quickly and more smoothly, so everyone can get back to celebrating you.

A FIRST LOOK

A first look can have a major impact on your wedding day. Not only does it allow you to have an intimate moment together, but it allows you to get most of your formal photos out of the way before the ceremony starts. Giving you more time for photos, and more time to party.

PHOTOGRAPHY FRIENDLY TIMELINE

Consulting your photographer on your wedding day timeline is a must for better wedding day photos. You photographer will have insights about lighting, time frames and unique venue restrictions you'll want to consider that you and your planner are likely not aware of.

This season I am working so hard to try and achieve a goal to create more valuable content for couples. I know it's engagement season and I want to help make planning your wedding (and photos) as stress free and exciting as possible.

So far? It’s going really well! In fact, I thought that I would never start blogging but I am enjoying it! I am so excited.
What are you working on this week? What are your goals? Personal? Business? Share them below so we can all stay accountable!

When you are trying to plan your wedding on your own, it can be hard. Like, really hard. You might even feel overwhelmed, stressed out or begin to feel decision paralysis set in.

I hear you. And I want you to know you are not alone. Before working with me, so many of my clients feel this way. It’s one of the reasons I love what I do so much. Because I love to give my couples recommendations on things like amazing vendors, ways to optimize their wedding budget, elevate the design and style of their wedding details, and plan a photography-friendly wedding day timeline.

Take it from me, there are a few things I wish I'd known when planning my own wedding, and after photographing couples all over the country, I've learned a few more. For some of these planning tips and more, check out the blog (link in bio), and if you're feeling like you'd love a wedding photographer who can help you curate the wedding (and images) of your dreams--let's connect! Even if you’re not ready to work with me, I’d love to hear about your wedding inspiration and see if I can help in some way.

This week, I’m getting ready for fall at home and I could not be more excited!

It’s my favorite time of year for family, entertaining and decor. Not to mention, one of my favorite wedding seasons—give me harvest vibes, crisp wether and golden autumn sunsets all day long!

This year, the season has inspired me to share more recipes, home decor and personal favorites on the blog and in the shop. So at the risk of sounding like a 90’s sitcom, stay tuned…

Happy Happy Friday everybody! I thought I’d end the week by answering some FAQ I often get about your wedding photography.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q: Will you edit or retouch our photos?
A: I know you want to look your absolute best in your photos, and I want you to as well! I always hand retouch each photo delivered to you with special care and attention to detail.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q: How long does it take to get our photos?
A: Good things take time, but nobody wants to wait very long. I pride myself in delivering your images within WEEKS of your wedding day, not months.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q: How do we book?
A: I make booking as easy as it can be! Just tell me all about your wedding plans and photography needs. After viewing your custom wedding proposal, a signed contract and retainer will reserve your wedding date. And with easy and convenient online booking tools, the whole process is a breeze.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q: Where should we go & what should we wear for our engagement session?
A: The only limit to planning your engagement session is your own imagination! And I love helping my clients dream big with planning consultations, location inspiration, and outfit recommendations. And with my exclusive engagement planning guide, I’m with you every step of the way.

Ever wondered what a wedding photographer gets up to behind the scenes?

Here’s a little insight into a week in my life!

This week I’ll be working on a new journal post sharing some of my favorite places to source the most beautiful bridesmaids dresses. I love helping to guide and inspire my Brides when planning their big day.

I’m so excited to be working with tomorrow on an editorial shoot for a NEW WEDDING VENUE in Visalia. (More stories updates to follow.)

And Saturday, I’m lending a hand to the incredibly talented on her stunning Lilly of the valley, luxury destination wedding floral design. For which I am so, so excited to see the final result.

Lastly I’m going to try really hard to remember to share some beautiful and exciting new stories updates this week to all who choose to follow along!

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is this… you can spend the same amount of money on a destination wedding as you can on an at home wedding.

So ten years ago, my husband and I scrapped our plans for a 300 guest count backyard wedding, and traded them for an intimate destination wedding weekend in Napa Valley.

And we still had an epic reception with all our friends and family back home.

Best. Decision. Ever.

I’m curious, what’s the best advice you’ve ever taken?
