There are some posts that are easy to write… and then there are the ones that leave you searching for the right words.

After much thought, reflection, and more than a few tears, I’ve made the decision to move to North Carolina at the end of September.

This wasn’t an easy choice. Washington has been home, and this community has supported Herb & Grain in ways I could have never imagined. You’ve trusted me with your weddings, birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, and so many of life’s meaningful moments. Thank you for allowing me to create for you and be a small part of your stories.

This move is about more than changing my address. It’s about creating space for the next season of my life—one with more creativity, more connection, and more room to grow. Herb & Grain isn’t ending… it’s simply beginning a new chapter.

Before I head east, I’d love the opportunity to serve you one last time.

All of the links are in my bio.

As I prepare to leave Washington, I also want to share a few local businesses I wholeheartedly recommend. Please show them some love and give them a follow:

✨ Artful Bites Design | Charcuterie Crafts | Sima
✨ Grazing tables, cheesy things + life
✨ Fireweed and Fig

Thank you for believing in this dream, supporting this small business, and walking alongside me through every chapter. I hope you’ll continue following the journey as Herb & Grain makes its way across the country and begins a new adventure in North Carolina. ❤️

Because I’m learning that success isn’t just what I build—it’s the life I’m building alongside it.

Me: “Today I’m going to be so good about creating content.”

My iPhone: “Not until you delete 14,000 photos of charcuterie boards.”

When the to-do list is long and my brain is fried, sometimes all it takes is hearing myself say, “please feed me.”

Suddenly I’m back in the present, nourishing the creator behind the creations. 🤍 How do you bring yourself back to the present when you feel overwhelmed?

If you haven’t noticed by now… I’m a creative person. ✨

And I’m completely self-taught in every single area of my work. The last art class I took was in 7th grade — shout out to Ms. Dickson at Alderwood Middle School.

I learned buttercream through pure chaos, hard knocks, trial and error, and the kind of determination that says, “well… we’re doing this now.” 😂

I tend to decide I want to learn something and then immediately launch myself into a beautifully disastrous path until I get the result I want.
Is it hard? Sometimes, yes.
Is it messy? Always yes.
Do I learn and grow every single time? Also yes.

I’ve always been the kind of person who jumps in first and figures it out along the way. Even as a kid, I remember wondering… who wrote the rules anyway?

Sometimes I think rules exist mostly to create self-doubt. To convince people they need permission before creating, trying, dreaming, failing, or beginning.

But in this bright, colorful, chaotic little life of mine, I’ve learned to throw away the rule book and live by a much simpler code:

✨ Did it make my soul sing?
✨ Did it ripple joy into the world?
✨ Was anyone harmed by my actions?

The rest?
It’s all an illusion anyway. 💫

Had to jump on this trend! 🤣 Here are my top 5 horror films. Number 5, is super scary.

I’m usually behind the scenes.
No makeup. Hair pulled back. It’s hot in the kitchen.

Prep days look like comfortable clothes that can handle it all—
bending, lifting, twisting, carrying… doing the actual work.

I’m rarely “camera ready.”
Truthfully, I avoid it.
I don’t love having photos taken.
I barely even look at myself in the mirror some days.

I’ve always been deeply invested in showing you the end result.
The finished board. The pretty details. The “wow” moment.

But I’m more than the finished product.

And I realized something recently—
I’ve been holding people at a distance,
waiting to be seen until I get back to who I once was.

But if you’ve met me in the last 5 years…
this is the only version of me you’ve ever known.

And somehow—
this version of me has built deeper connections,
more meaningful friendships,
and a life I once only dreamed about.

So I’m not hiding anymore.

My light doesn’t belong to a smaller version of me.

And I’m done holding myself back
for a body I used to have.

Hi, I am Shirah.

Crudité is just a fancy word for veggie platter.

The name might be a little silly—but we don’t mess around when it comes to vegetables.

Behind every platter is a 24–48 hour process of prep, care, and intention before anything even hits the board. Yes, it’s time-consuming. And no, we’re not changing it.

Because the goal isn’t just pretty—it’s plates that get eaten.

Perfect for backyard parties, cookouts, and any gathering that deserves a little extra color.
