Let's do something fun! How about we continue the trend of getting to know the faces behind Avalon with an impromptu interview of our owners. Starting with Jon:
Tell us about yourself. Give me the elevator pitch of Jon!
I’m Jon! I’m a husband, a new dad, and a filmmaker. And I always seem to find another project to get way too invested in. My wife would probably say something here about how perfect I am, and I can write anything I want, so it's definitely true.
What are some of your hobbies?
I can usually be found playing volleyball, pickleball, or filming something. And obviously, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my wife and our new baby girl, Emma!
What started you on film-making?
Honestly, I’ve just always loved movies and storytelling. I started shooting short films for fun, and somewhere along the way it turned into this.
What's your favorite Origami shape?
I’m gonna be honest, the classic crane has always had a soft spot in my heart.
What does owning your own small business mean to you?
It means a lot. It's been awesome building this from scratch with one of my best friends. It’s a lot of work, but I've loved it all.
What's your favorite Evansville hidden gem?
La Campirana Authentic Mexican Grill. I’m not sure it’s really “hidden” at this point, but their smoothies are to die for.
