Volunteer Day Details
Sunday, June 22 at enJOUi Farm

I'll be on-site starting around 8:00 AM, and you are welcome to come early if you'd like to beat the heat or just enjoy the morning quiet.

Official volunteer start time is 10:00 AM, and with focused teamwork, we could wrap up by around 12:15 PM(especially before the forecasted 93° really sets in)

Come early, leave when you need! We’ll shape beds, start compost, make hills for watermelon & pumpkin, and maybe plant if there’s time. Food, lemonade, and garden art included!

What to Bring
Water bottle, comfy clothes, sun protection, sturdy shoes, and a willingness to sweat a little + give a little. Feel free to bring a friend!

Make a left and drive straight down the paved road toward West Friendship Park.
You’ll see protected meadows on the right (please don’t drive on the grass)

When you reach two gates at the bottom, do the following:
If gates are open, feel free to drive down (2 minutes).
If gates are closed, park at the top near the gate, call me and I will pick you up.
If you prefer to walk, it's about a 5–10 minute walk through the gate

This event is not just about planting; it's about coming together to support our passion for agriculture and entertainment. We’re excited to share that we've been officially accepted into the 2025 Howard County New and Beginning Farmer Pilot Program! What’s Happening Now The land is being prepared for our upcoming growing season. With support from the Office of Agriculture, deer fencing has been mapped out and land is being cleared. We're awaiting the final phases of site prep and once it's ready, you’re invited to come get your hands in the soil with us! Join us for an enriching and therapeutic culinary experience at Keys Culinary Therapy on June 24th at 6:00 PM, located at 1430 Carswell Street. You can also join us virtually! This session aims to bring families together through the therapeutic act of cooking, connecting, sharing cherished memories, and exploring diverse cultural foods.

What to Expect:

- Cooking Session: Participants will be guided through the preparation of a refreshing Hibiscus Drink and a flavorful Yellow Coconut Curry or Honey Sesame Chicken with Green Beans. All necessary ingredients will be provided.
- Discussion and Activity: Engage in meaningful discussions about family food memories and how different environments affect our comfort levels during meals. Create a Family Food Memory Chart to visually map out your family connections and associated food memories.

If you know anyone who is available online or in person, please have them fill out the form as soon as possible.

Additional Information:

- All ingredients for the session meal will be provided, along with extra food items for participants to take home. Please register so boxes can be delivered to you.
