My solution for planting 70 baby Christmas trees: a temporary raised bed. When they get a little bigger and I get a little more organized, we will replant in a more permanent location.

We saved the best for last, week 4 of girls in the garden allowed us to get our creative juices flowing. We made garden inspired flat breads and flower crowns. Thanks to the girls foe their awesome participation and the awesome moms that brought them. We hope to have another session in the fall, get in touch if you're interested!

Girls in the garden week 3. We harvested poppy pods, dumped out the seeds and made a poppy seed cake, did an insect scavenger hunt, discussed and picked flowers suitable for drying, and did an herb taste test. Oh and filled tea bags with dried mint and lemon balm. Next week is the grand finale!

Girls-in-the-Garden week 2. Made flower presses, practiced using power tools to build a raised bed, baked zucchini bread, picked flowers and tomatoes, discussed greenhouses and how they work. Next week is at my house!

My friend Casi and I hosted our first garden club this morning. We discussed composting, planted a few things, harvested flowers and salsa ingredients, made flower pots and ate salsa. It was a great time, can't wait for next week!
