If you’re new here or just finding out about El Paso Mahjong Society, welcome! I’m Melissa Rogers and I launched El Paso Mahjong Society in March 2025. I went back and forth wondering if I should pursue the path of a mahjong teacher and I am so grateful that I did.
I completed my teacher training through and - an experience that I was so lucky to be offered! When Molly reached out to ask me if I’d like to be a teacher, I was hesitant about if I could be successful or not. Just over a year later and I’m humbled to say it was one of the best decisions of my life!
Teaching mahjong has given me friendships of my own and allowed me to bear witness into the friendships of others. There is no greater honor than being invited into your homes and into your lives to help you add more play! Whether you want a mahjong 101 class or an advanced strategy session, I can’t wait to meet you. There is always room at my mahj table!
