Hi, I'm Lauren! I am 30 years old and have been a professional cake designer for four years. I have a wonderful husband, Brien, and five amazing kids- Joshua, Jeffrey, Jayden, Cazlyn, and Elijah. I was born in Oklahoma City, OK but moved to Falcon, NC at the age of three and ever since, I have considered myself to be a Carolina girl!
I was a competitive gymnast and softball player for most of my life until I graduated in 2006 from Cape Fear High School and moved to Greenville, NC to attend college at ECU (Go pirates!). I went through many career choices before I found my love of baking and cake design. I feel passionate about what I do because it has carried me through a lot of hard times in my life. It was my therapy turned into a career, and I pour my heart into every cake I make.
From 2013 to 2016 I made cakes for any and every event, but in 2017 I decided to focus my career on wedding cakes only. I have felt so passionate about working with brides and grooms and designing wedding cakes to make their big day perfect that I also have aspirations to one day own my own wedding venue in addition to making wedding cakes. I have since then decided to go back to doing all occasion cakes because of the high level of requests I was receiving. I am so grateful for the support from my community.
I have no professional training nor have I ever attended school for what I do, I have taught myself everything I know and I am constantly bettering myself to learn everything I possibly can about caking.
In addition to making cakes, I am also a legal assistant for a law firm based in Fayetteville. Some of my hobbies are craft beer, scavenging NC for the best barbeque I can find, coaching my kids ball teams, cooking, going to county music concerts, and spending time with my family.
I am looking forward to being able to meet and work with you one day! Thank you for supporting my passion!
