Aphrodisiac Beer Dinner 2/11 in Coney Island (Follow me for more on IG )
On Saturday February 11, I will be hosting a 3 course plated beer dinner at the Coney Island Brewery I created and have been recipe testing. We will be exploring the exotic and erotic world of Aphrodisiacs.

I will begin the evening with a grazing table and a pint of beer, giving guests time to arrive and mingle before the event begins.
The first course will be oysters!
One of my personal favorite aphrodisiacs! I will serve them two ways: chilled on the half shell with a La Mon De Plum beer granita with ginger, and fried oysters with “hopped” honey, pickled fennel and saffron scented creme fraiche.
For my vegan friends, I see you! I will offer a vegan “lobster” roll made with hearts of palm, served with a salad of house pickled fennel and cress.
This course is paired with a Witbier, which I will discuss the tasting notes of, and how the food pairs with the flavors of the beer.
My second plated course will be laden with the aphrodisiac spices of the Middle East and the Orient! The spices of this region of the world have been hailed as aphrodisiacs for centuries! After all, trade routes were established to ensure Europeans could benefit from the holistic and aphrodisiac qualities of these exotic herbs and spices.
You will feast on Moroccan spiced lamb with pomegranate-molasses glazed carrots and apricots over blue corn polenta with a mint raita.
My vegetarian friends will enjoy lentil fritters instead of lamb, with the same accompaniments.This course will be paired with a ginger and spice laden Belgian ale.
The final course will include some more of my personal favorites, chocolate, honey and Damiana!
Your lips will be graced with a luscious dark chocolate pudding infused with a smoked barley malt, served with a pink peppercorn cake soaked with Damiana syrup. The desert course will be paired with a honey stout.
