Fun fact
Cuckoo silkie chicks are born without any barring and look like blues.
The barring on cuckoo silkies is not as distinct as on a hard/smooth feathered bird, this is due to the very soft, fluffy feathers. The barring is more distinct on a darker color and or male cuckoo.

I cannot recommend this product enough.
Do not wait until they start hu***ng up or the droopy wings before ordering. I’ve made this mistake. I’ve watched my chicks bounce back in just 24 hour use of this product.

1 teaspoon per gallon of water.
Use over the course of 3 days!

Corid takes the Vit B/Thiamine from the chick. This is to starve the cocci by taking needed vitamins in the body. It’s not recommended to use medicated feed and Corid they work the same way. Chicks can & do get coccidiosis on medicated feed, because it's a "preventative" dose added to the feed. This might be fine to use as long as they are not polish chicks. Polish have Vit B absorption issues by the breed makeup. They have a flaw in their genetics which is Vitamin absorption issues. By treating coccidia with Corid & the preventative medicated feed. Adult birds have developed the resistance (immunity) to keep it at bay. Remember, medicated feed is NEVER okay for Polish.

Did you know there’s a difference between a showgirl silkie and a stripper silkie?!

These silkies have different feather patterns, with "showgirl" silkies, they have alittle hair in the front called a bowtie while "stripper" silkies (also called naked neck silkies) have no neck feathers what so ever!

What type of bedding do you use for your chickens and ducks?

I’m currently using pine shavings opposed to cedar since cedar shavings are generally not recommended bedding for ducks and chickens due to potential health risks since Cedar contains toxins that can affect a chicken or ducks respiratory system and liver.

Who uses pellet bedding instead of pine shavings? I’m thinking of making the switch!
