These flowers are just hands down my favorite. Their bloom window is so short, but they are just magnificent. I planted these last fall, and can’t cut from them for a couple more years. They’re an investment, and take patience, but so worth it. And bonus -pink peony bush that I get to enjoy for a season, before it goes back to its rightful owner whose family has passed this plant literally through generations. I just 💗 the stories and meaning a flower can hold…

🌸These are not your average porch pots…🌺
Preview of some of the porch pots and flowers we will have in Holy Cross on Saturday. We hand select and thoughtfully design every single planter with locally grown flowers, many of which we started from seed and have been nurturing for months. Come see the difference!

So much happening over these last couple of months and I'm way overdue for an update! We have been on the run, with trips to New York and Hawaii to visit our family. We bought a house- we sold a house!!! We are moving closer to Mike's family farm, much closer! We've got peonies and bulbs in the ground for next year and the years to come!

It's hard to believe just a couple of days ago I was basking in 60 degree weather and sunshine, putting the gardens to bed. I'm amazed at how satisfying, even end of season work is. There is just something about creating sustainable practices that fills me up! There is just something about the "out with the old and in with the new" of wrapping up a season and starting to plan for the next. There is just something about learning something new - digging dahlia tubers - for the first time with the help of an amazing mentor and friend Martha's Gardens - Dubuque! So much to be thankful for… but I'm especially thankful for all I've learned this year and those that are on this journey with me.

I may be quiet over the next month or so with the holidays and moving(!)… but January we will be starting seeds for next season and I can't wait! Happy Thanksgiving friends!

As my first season is coming to a close, I am so thankful for all I've learned and so looking forward to growing and getting better next year! This year was full of so many sweet surprises, including this card that Abby and Lucas surprised me with that they bought with their own money.🥰 Sweet motivation...✌️🌺🌻
