Lads and Lassies here is the Irish Hooley 2025 Entertainment line up. 🧡☘️💚👏🏻

Gates open at 11AM on Saturday, August 23rd.
$20 at the gate the day of the Hooley.
ATM on site. Cash only for vendors and drink.

Kids 10 and under get in for free. Stop on over to the Children's Tent (open 1pm-4pm and enjoy The Shiver and Timber Kids show, "Calling all Pirates."

Not only do we have amazing music from Ireland with Rory Makem , Aoife Scott and The Kilkennys ; we have great music and dance from our festival friends, Ballyheigue, The Lads of Dubuque , McNulty Irish Dancers , Dubuque Fire Pipes & Drums and musical guest and MC, Ian Gould & Lukas Jaeger.

Who is ready for the kids area?! Thrilled to say IanGouldMusic and his wife, Liz, will have with crafts, and a fun performance of "Shiver and Timbers "A Pirate Adventure" along with Heraldry.

Goodie bags while supplies last in the kids area courtesy of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Dubuque County Division #1

Children's Tent area will be open 1:00PM - 4:30PM on Saturday, Aug.23rd.

Only TWO more DAYS to wait until the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Irish Hooley Music festival, August 23rd at the Port of Dubuque.

Headlining this grand celebration, all the way from Ireland, The Kilkennys .

A traditional Irish folk and ballad band, The Kilkennys are noted for their dynamic arrangements, energetic performances and charismatic rapport with audiences across the globe.

Picking up the mantle left by acts such as The Dubliners and The Clancy Brothers, the group continue to conquer tour circuits in Europe and the U.S.A. In the past years The Kilkennys have shared the stage with renowned Irish artists such as Shane McGowan, Sharron Shannon and Finbar Furey. Continuing their hectic tour schedule 2016 saw the band perform on the main stage at Milwaukee Irish Fest - the largest Irish Festival in the world.

3 Days and counting down until the amazing Irish weekend at the Port of Dubuque on
August 23rd. We will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Irish Hooley Music Festival.

Joining our special celebration this year will be the wonderful music of Aoife Scott. Joining Aoife will be Andrew Meany and Joanna Hyde.

Aoife Scott is a folk singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. Born into the legendary Black Family, Aoife is steadily rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene and has long enjoyed success as an established artist in her own right. Fragile and ethereal one minute and strong and vibrant the next, her dynamic and profound vocals explore the emotional depths of her lyrics, leaving the audience entranced.

With a deep passion for storytelling, Aoife has continued to establish herself as a prominent figure in the Irish music scene. She has released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Carry the Day" and "Homebird," which have showcased her ability to fuse traditional and contemporary styles and earned her a loyal following both in Ireland and internationally.

In 2024, alongside her touring partner Andy Meaney, she toured and performed an impressive 100 concerts across eight different countries, showcasing her versatility and captivating audiences with her soulful performances.

4 days and counting until we kick off the Hooley Irish Music Festival 20th Anniversary. Performing this year is a wonderful singer and storyteller, Mr. Rory Makem. Don't miss this great time at the Port of Dubuque, Saturday, August 23rd.

A seasoned performer with over 35 years on the road, Rory has toured extensively with The Makem Brothers, and the Makem and Spain Brothers and for 17 years played guitar with his father, Tommy Makem. He has played sold-out venues, festivals, and theaters throughout the United States, Canada, England, Scotland and Ireland. At his best on stage, Rory captivates his audiences with charisma, passion for the songs, poetry, history, humor and skilled musicianship.

Through more than a quarter century of plying his craft, Rory has established himself as one of the leading forces in the song tradition of Irish music… and so… the tradition continues.
