To all Skaters, Ice Hockey Players, Parents, Thunder fans, and Supporters,

We want to update you on the situation with the Dover Civic Arena Project.

Sadly, our plan to build a state-of-the-art Ice Arena in Dover was commandeered by a local politician, who for some reason, completely undermined our project and now, even though he made serious promises that "there would be an arena by fall" failed to deliver on that $10-20 million dollar (taxpayer funded) Ice Rink he so promised. Unfortunately, all the skaters, youth and adult players, and families affected must travel north to enjoy the sport they so love and enjoy, and sadly, some have simply stopped playing or skating because of this.

But, we have our local contractor, all our studies completed, design, vendors, private investors, and a full schedule offering many new and exciting programs and activities for the community ready to go still.

If you are one of those affected, a civic leader, potential investor, town leader, town administrator, or landowner, we welcome you to join our group.

In case you missed this news piece on WBOC the other night. The Dover Civic Arena can’t wait to have everyone on our ice and making the Arena a place to be in Delaware.

Please keep sharing and supporting our Project and Page as we want to keep this at the front of everyone’s minds!

As the community races to find alternatives following the announcement of the Centre Ice Rink’s closure at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, discussions about potential solutions are intensifying in Dover.

Just another view of the ice rink, mezzanine/corporate suite(s) of the 2nd floor, and some potential corporate sponsorship logo placements that will be happening in the new Dover Civic Arena!!

We’re excited for everything that we’ll be able to offer all the teams and leagues and hope to provide them with a fantastic facility to call their home.

Let’s keep that support going and get everyone into a brand new Arena!!

🚨🚨🚨 MEETING NOTICE!!! 🚨🚨🚨

The Dover Civic Arena Group is requesting that all existing user groups of the Centre Ice Arena and any future user groups that would like to play in the Dover Civic Arena save this meeting date.

Date: February 6th @ 3pm
Where: Dover Public Library Meeting Room B

We would like 2-4 representatives from each User Group/Team/League to attend if possible to discuss the Dover Civic Arena Project and future of all teams and groups.

This meeting is NOT open to the public.

Please spread the word!!
