If y’all didn’t know, last season was technically my first season back behind the camera again ✨
I’ve loved photography since middle school, but I didn’t truly start pursuing it seriously until after my twins were born. Then life happened in ways I never could’ve planned.
When my daughter Aria was just 3 months old, she had her first open heart surgery. As a mom, especially a twin mom, my world became survival mode for a long time. Between raising twins, appointments, surgeries, life, and just trying to keep my head above water, photography had to take a back seat for a while.
Then a couple years ago, when Aria was 11, she went through her second open heart surgery and absolutely crushed it like the little warrior she is 💜 She’s 13 now, thriving, independent, funny, strong, and doing amazing.
As she got older and life slowly settled, I finally found my way back to what I truly love.
And honestly? I’m grateful for that break now because it taught me something important.
One of the reasons I stepped away for a while was burnout. Not from photography itself, because I genuinely love creating and capturing people’s stories, but from trying to do too much, too fast, while pouring from an empty cup. Especially when my kids were little. I pushed myself hard and eventually hit a point where I barely picked up my camera for almost two years.
That’s also why these days I only take a limited number of weddings each year. Weddings are beautiful and emotional and I absolutely still love them, but I’ve learned I need balance to keep loving what I do instead of turning it into something exhausting.
Now I’m back, this is what I call my second season, and somehow y’all have had me absolutely running this year in the best way possible 🥹✨
I’m building my website right now, learning new editing techniques daily, taking classes behind the scenes to grow even more in Photoshop and Lightroom, and genuinely putting my whole heart into this business.
With transparency though 😅 I am a smidge behind on a few galleries. Part of that is because I’ve been leveling up my editing and shooting multiple sessions some days while still being a mom to two 13 year olds.
BUT… I finally hired help 🙌🏼✨
Which means we are getting organized, streamlined, and fully ready heading into summer season. Website launch is hopefully happening this week, workflows are improving, and things are finally starting to feel like the vision I’ve had in my head for years.
If I owe you photos, they ARE coming 💜 Thank y’all for your patience, support, referrals, shares, encouragement, and kindness while I continue growing.
Seriously… this business means more to me than most people realize.
And if you haven’t already, come follow me on Instagram too! I post stories constantly over there so you can keep up with sessions, editing chaos, behind the scenes, sunsets, life, and all the fun in between ✨
