THROUGH GREEN MEETINGS AND EVENTS
Meetings and events are often an overlooked source of energy consumption and waste for businesses, municipalities, college campuses and other institutions looking to save money and reduce their environmental footprint. A free training offered by the Illinois Green Economy Network funded through the IL DCEP Building Industry Training Education (BITE) program will explain how to tap into this hidden source of energy and environmental savings through emerging best practices and standards in sustainable meetings and events.
“Green Event Planning & Management: How to Reduce Environmental and Energy Costs Associated With Your Events” will take place from 9 – noon on May 3 at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills and on May 24 at the College of Lake County in Grayslake. The workshops are free but registration is required at http://www.igencc.org/temt.
