Each year at The Midwest's PREMIER Magic Convention - AbraCORNdabra, we have a Saturday Night "Awards Show & Gala" called "The OscEARs".
We award Trophy's Medallions, Ribbons, Certificuts, Cash Prizes, & Statuettes to those who win the contests such as:
* The Magimasters Seniors magic Tournament (we are the ONLY magic convention in the World who holds a contest EXCLUSIVELY for magi aged 50 and older only!)
* This year we had "The Midwest Championship of Close-up Magic Contest" with a first place winner and a "People's Choice" winner.
We also give out awards to NON-Contest folks, such as:
* The Kernels Young Magicians Showcase Show (which is NOT a contest, it is merely a SHOWCASE SHOW for magi aged 21 and younger)
We also honor special guest such as:
* The AbraCORNdabra "1 O.A.K." award (Which stands for "One-Of-A-Kind")
* We honor visiting guests who hold special offices.
* We have "surprise" awards for folks we truly want to honor and show our appreciation for all they do in the World of Magic.
The looks on these honoree's faces when their names are called is priceless!!!!
Of course, we also have our MYSTERY MAGICIAN limited-editon (numbered) Commerative Coin, (of which sales beneft the Young Magician's Fund), in which we honor an outstanding magician in the magic community who has given so much over decades to the art of Magic.
