It’s CRAZY to think we set up this display almost two weeks ago. This was truly the calm before the storm — the gates wouldn’t even open for another four days.

And now, here we are, our final 3 days of the fair. What a ride these past two weeks have been!

The Iowa State Fair is the largest event in the state, bringing more than 1 MILLION people to Des Moines each year from across the Midwest, around the country and even around the world. In 2025 alone, 1,160,121 people walked through the gates.

That’s a lot of people coming together in one place to experience Iowa, our agriculture, businesses, food, entertainment and, most importantly, our people.

It’s one of the reasons we’re so proud to have Iowa Glow Co. represented throughout the Fairgrounds again this year. Knowing our displays will be seen, photographed and enjoyed by thousands of people over these 11 days is pretty amazing.

There really is nothing quite like the Iowa State Fair.

Not once. Not twice. Not three times. The FOURTH time was the charm...

Sometimes you can plan the perfect spot for a display, but you can’t always control what ends up happening around it once the Fair gets rolling.

So, we moved it. And moved it again. And… moved it again (rain and all).

You troubleshoot, adapt and keep going until you find the right spot.

Now, you can now find this fun display on the south side of the Iowa State Fair Administration Building. If you’re walking by, stop and grab a photo!

THIS is what makes it all worth it.

We spend a lot of time getting these displays planned, hauled in and set up. Then the Fair starts, and we get to watch this happen all day long.

Families, couples, groups of friends and fairgoers of all ages stop by our FAIR / SPIRIT 2026 display to grab a photo.

That’s one of the coolest parts of what we do. Our displays are made to be seen, but even better, they become part of someone’s memory from the day.

And when you pair the letters with a backdrop like the Iowa State Fair… it’s a pretty tough photo op to pass up.

We could watch this timelapse all day.

This is our third Iowa State Fair and every year, the displays get a little bigger.

We started with just two displays our first year. Last year, we grew to five. This year, we have six displays spread across five locations throughout the Fairgrounds, including two stacked setups, one tied to a balcony and another free-standing on a roof.

All told, 68 Iowa Glow Co. units are on display at the Iowa State Fair this year. For perspective, our average rental is about six units.

And getting them there is no small job. We put in more than 20 hours of setup alone, on top of all the planning beforehand and the daily work during the Fair to make sure every display stays looking its best for the thousands of photos taken around them.

But it's WELL worth it.

Every day during the Fair, we get texts from friends, family and colleagues sharing photos they've taken at one of our displays. That never gets old.

What makes it even better is seeing these displays become part of people's Fair tradition. Families stop for their annual photo. Friends grab a selfie. Kids pose in front of the letters. Knowing Iowa Glow Co. gets to play a small part in those memories is pretty awesome.

We definitely don't look forward to tearing all 68 units down the Monday after the Fair 😂, but we couldn't be prouder to help light up an event that means so much to Iowa.
