I wanted to share the decor I did for my son’s college graduation party this week.

I loved the idea of using books as centerpieces. The top books and ones that I showcase are all ones that he chose. Either something he read in college or just books that he liked. If you see the theme….he was a political science major and is going to law school in the fall. I also love seeing how my greenery wall can be decorated in a different way. 

We had a great time, my son loved it and we are so grateful to all the people who love him and always show up for him. Congrats to Emmitt and

I wanted to share this picture and the story and tell you how sometimes catastrophe happens and you have to think fast on your feet and form of Plan B quickly…..

In April, I did this outdoor wedding on a pretty windy day. The bride wanted this floral arch at the back by the sign in table for everyone to walk-through as they came into the wedding. I did the ceremony arch and area first, and then I did this, very early in the morning. Then I moved on to the area where the reception was taking place. I was finishing up, about five minutes ahead of schedule and I was so stoked. I’m always so excited when my schedule works out exactly the way I planned it timewise. I was helping at this wedding as well as being a guest at this wedding so I knew how much time I had to get home, showered and changed to be back to decorate the cake and stay for the wedding. I was doing the final touches and someone said “hey that arch just fell”. I thought they meant the ceremony arch which completely made my heart drop. I looked over and it was still standing, and then I looked to the right and saw what had happened. I had everything staked in the ground really good but the wind was blowing really bad and it literally snapped both of these arches at the bottom and broke them. Sending them to the ground in a carnage of flowers.  I wish I would have got a picture of everything on the ground, but in the moment I was just trying to think quick on my feet. I knew I didn’t have enough time to get home, get another arch, get back and redo everything and then be back to do the cake, etc. so I had to think quickly and form a new plan and pray the bride was cool with it because I didn’t have time to ask permission. Thankfully, my bride was very easy-going so no forgiveness was needed either 😂. It all worked out, I turned this arch into aisle runners for people to walk through as they came up and the bride said she liked it better.

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Sometimes the wind can come along and destroy an hour plus worth of work. It’s not the end of the world. And it all works out when you don’t panic. And now I am on a mission to build my own more sturdy arches for future use that no amount of wind will take down.

Few things from this week. A few things I can post. I just got finished with a wedding order, all of the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. I am excited to share those after the wedding. My son is graduating from college on the 22nd, one week from tomorrow then his grad party on Memorial Day and some family will be in that week from out of town. I have one more wedding decor (rehearsal dinner) job on the books for the end of this month, and then it’s time for family vacation. I am looking forward to some quality family time. After vacation, I do plan to work on wreaths for July 4th and anything else anyone may want. It’s been a long time since I’ve had time just to create and make wreaths so I am excited to have some downtime in June to do that. If you are wanting a specific wreath, especially maybe for America’s 250th get with me and I am happy to get it done for you. I do plan to make a few wreaths to post for sale as well. So be on the lookout for that  the second week in June.

Happy Monday y’all.  I wanted to take a moment and address something just so people are aware. I get a lot of messages with a couple of pictures or maybe even just a written out idea of something someone wants for a wedding asking me how much I would charge for it. So I just wanted everyone who may be interested in using me for upcoming weddings to know that I don’t just throw out prices like that. I prefer to sit down with the bride and get all of the info and ideas that she has as well as everything she would want me to be doing and if there will be things rented from me, etc. and then I write up a quote. If you’re just wanting me to do bouquets and corsages, I can sometimes do that in messenger or over the phone and give you a quote based on details and maybe some inspiration pictures unless you just want to give me complete creative freedom. But, if I am doing your whole wedding (all floral and decor) and you are possibly renting things from me I do need a sitdown consult. Because for a lot of things I will need extra details like measurements so I will know how many flowers, foam, etc. will be used. If I’m doing tables, I will have to know how many and lots of different little details that make a big difference for me and how I quote. My consults and quotes are free but it’s just easier for me to be able to write a quote when I sit down with you and go over everything in detail. And after you get the quote, if you choose not to use me, that is fine this is still the way I like to do business. If you do decide to use me, I do require a deposit to be scheduled on my books. If you have not sat down with me for a consult, got a quote and paid a deposit you are not on my schedule. I stay busy and this is a way for me to keep everything organized and my schedule from overlapping, etc. 

I hope this answers any questions some of you may have, and if you are wanting to use me for an upcoming wedding, I look forward to sitting down with you and looking over all of your ideas. I do my very best to give you everything you have ever wanted to make your day as special as possible.

Congratulations to Breanna and Brandon on your baby girl! From wedding shower decor, wedding florals to getting to know the gender of their baby and doing this gender reveal basket for their party I have been honored to be a part of some special moments for this sweet couple. I know Gracie is going to be so loved, so beautiful, just the right amount of spoiled and little bougie 💕💕.
