Welcome to the The L House LLC. This is the most beautiful old home that has been turned into an event venue in DeRidder. Right next to Lewis Moters on highway 171…..2705 Hwy 171 South DeRidder, LA 70634.

I don’t usually work on Saturdays, especially not on Sundays but when your friends own this beautiful place and ask you to help them out and you get to work in such a beautiful space you do it. 

They are having an open house this Saturday, November 22 from 3 PM to 6 PM. Refreshments will be served and you do not want to miss this opportunity to go in and see this beautiful space. It is perfect for smaller and more intimate weddings. They are also in the works of building an outdoor space if you would like an outdoor ceremony. And it is literally around the corner from my house so if you use me for your wedding and you rent this space you will not have to pay for travel time for me becayse I can drive there in 2 minutes. Just throwing this out there. They also have the cutest little bride’s room. No picture of it on this post, you need to go to the open house to see that. And as you can see from these pictures, they have a gorgeous dining room with a table that seats 10 people. They also have tables and chairs to be set up or rented out for a different events you might have. And when I tell you that Stephanie has vintage treasures galore, I’m not even exaggerating. This is also a perfect spot to host family get togethers, maybe even class reunions. They have a great outdoor space with lighting and heaters if it’s cool. Again, you will have to go to the open house to view that, I’m not sharing everything in this post because I want you to go to their open house. If you like vintage and you like tea parties, you will love this place. 

And then, they are hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday, December 13 from 1 pm to 5 pm. Bring your kids and cameras so they can visit with Santa, tell him what they want for Christmas and take pictures. And this is the set up in front of this tree and fireplace where your kids will take their pictures or you can even take family pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus.

Y’all go check them out. I love the vintage and old school vibes. This space was so much fun to work in!!!

Y’all stay tuned. I’ve worked the last two days on something really special and something really beautiful and I will be sharing pictures tomorrow morning bright and early. It’s not only pictures of my work, but it’s pictures of this beautiful new event venue we have here in DeRidder and they will be having an open house this coming weekend. I’m excited to share all of those details with all of you tomorrow so be on the lookout for my post in the morning.

Job # 2 today was special. Did the topper, ribbon and all the sprigs/picks on one of my sister Lynn’s trees this evening. She is the reason I love to decorate. Growing up I loved being at her house especially during Christmas with all of her beautiful trees and decorations. Watching how she did things was how I learned. For her to ask me to do this made me feel like I had arrived 😂. Seriously. Plus I got to spend time with her while I worked. She’s adding ornaments and I’ll share more pics later but I had to post these now. She went traditional Christmas wi th this one and I’m loving it. And the tree itself is 30 years old and stunning!!

I always enjoy my time at the Dowden farm with all of the cowboy Christmas I could ever want.  I spent the last two days here and honestly, she has enough stuff I could get her back and spend a couple more days. Because, if you know Stacey, you know she’s got it…..or something like it…..somewhere 😂😂😂.  I even had to get some pictures of the beautiful horse that kept talking to me today when I was doing the front door. Isn’t she gorgeous?! Also, all the roosters that came and joined me right on the front porch. If you see DP ask him about all those roosters 😂😂😂😂😂. Kind of freaked me out at first, but they were nice and calm so I just went with it. Then this random cow just showed up eating grass on the side of the house. All the sounds and the smells that go with the farm as well. I think I said it last year but I’ll say it again, these people aren’t fronting like the rest of us. It’s a for real farmhouse. It’s not just a style or some decor theme or are some kind of trend. It’s the real deal. I swept a little bit of mud from some cowboy boots off the front doorstep as well. Pretty awesome. And also, check out that ceiling, the cowboy a.k.a. DP a.k.a. Pat Dowden recently did in the living room 🥰🥰🥰. Totally speaking my language. Sure do love me some Stacey and Pat!!

This is my schedule with my open availabilities as of today. Everything highlighted and yellow is all that I have left. Sometimes people will need to reschedule so it may change, but as it gets this full, it’s really hard to do a lot of rescheduling, especially if you don’t want to wait because as you can see, I only have times available in December now. It can change from day-to-day so if you talked to me a week ago or two weeks ago and were thinking about one of my open dates that I had then it probably won’t be available today.  I try to keep my updated schedule posted at least every other day so always come back and look if you haven’t booked yet. And also, if you are on my schedule for a later date and I get a cancellation notice within a reasonable timeframe and I’m able to rebook I always let my people who are wanting an earlier date know about it. I try to be as accommodating as possible. 

Also, please be mindful and respectful of my time when it comes to canceling on me last minute. There are a lot of people that I have had to turn away because I am only one person and when you cancel on me, literally hours before I am scheduled to come to your house I not only lose money but someone else misses out on a time slot they could have had. I’m really trying to keep this going without asking for deposits, but it may end up being that way in the future.  I understand things coming up and you having to reschedule especially when you apologetically reach out to me and we set a new time for you and I’m able to give someone else your old time with enough notice but knowing that I am scheduled to come on a certain day and you canceling because you just forgot or did not prepare properly and me not knowing about it until I reach out to touch base the evening before is not respectful of my business or my time. This is not a hobby, this is a business and this is my busiest time of year. From August through December I literally do not stop. From fall decor, to homecoming to Christmas I am nonstop. Throw a few weddings in there like I had in August and October and it’s really busy and thats when my OCD personality, routines and schedule keeping really kicks in. I keep busy all year, but this is literally my biggest and most profitable time of year and I live by a very rigid schedule.  I really hope I’m not coming across as rude, but I just felt like it needed to be addressed. I am thankful for every single one of you, I am where I am today with this business and my brand new shop because of all of you and I am very, very grateful. I know how blessed I am to get to do what I thoroughly enjoy everyday, and I do not take it for granted.

Today’s Christmas tree. Always one of my favorites. So whimsical and so much fun to do.  I also had the cutest little helper today. Karson was helping me put all the colors in organized piles and she was more than happy to give me her favorite ornaments to make sure they were put in just the right places. She also would tell me when something was not her style and to put it on the back. I also think she just really liked climbing my ladder when I wasn’t using it.

Job number 1 yesterday. I always enjoy my time at Salon La Belle. The ribbon, the colors and the beautiful shop that has so much character. I always wonder what those fireplaces have looked like in past Christmas seasons when it was a family home. So many stories these walls could tell.
