Exposer Tip
Stop guessing your exposure just by how your screen looks.
Your histogram shows you how the brightness is distributed in your image shadows on the left, highlights on the right. Watch those edges because you could be losing detail in your blacks or highlights. Every scene is different, so it doesn’t always need to sit in the middle.
And if you’re shooting in Log, using a compatible viewing LUT on your monitor gives you a preview with more natural contrast and color, closer to your intended finished look.
The histogram helps you judge exposure. The LUT helps you visualize the look. Use both to shoot with more confidence.”
