☀️ TEXAS HEAT + YOUR YARD = CONCRETE! ☀️

We want to take a minute to talk about something that is VERY important when booking a yard greeting during these hot Texas months — WATERING YOUR YARD! 💦🌱

Our invoice policies state that someone at the home is responsible for preparing and thoroughly watering the yard before installation. We also mention this during our conversations with you and include it in your booking information because we truly cannot stress enough how important it is.

Green grass does NOT mean soft ground!
Your grass can look beautiful and green on top while the dirt underneath is literally as hard as concrete. Our signs have stakes that must be pushed several inches into the ground, and when the ground is rock-hard, there is only so much we can do.

We REALLY do try! ❤️ In 8½ years of business, I honestly cannot recall a time when we weren’t able to install anything at all. There have certainly been times when we couldn’t give you the big, full greeting we had planned, but we have always done everything possible to get something installed.

This is also why our policy states that refunds are not given when the yard has not been properly prepared. By the time we arrive, we have already designed and prepared your greeting, pulled all of your inventory, loaded everything, driven to your location and made every reasonable attempt to complete your installation. We have done our part, and we simply need your help doing yours. ❤️

So when we say SOAK THAT YARD, we mean SOAK IT! 💦💦💦 A quick sprinkle with the hose or your automatic sprinklers isn’t enough during a Texas summer, PLEASE TRUST ME ON THIS. The water needs time to pe*****te down into that hard soil.

And if you have a greeting booked and you’re concerned that you won’t be able to properly prepare the yard, please reach out to us ahead of time. We understand! There are absolutely no hard feelings. We’d much rather have that conversation beforehand than arrive and discover that we can’t give you the greeting you were expecting.

✨ THIS is why I still love what I do after 8 years! ✨

When you’ve been in business as long as I have, you get the privilege of watching life come full circle.

A mom who has supported my business for almost 8 years has trusted me to celebrate so many special moments along the way. Now, her daughter is grown, has a little one of her own, and is booking with me herself. 🥹💕

Yesterday, that sweet little one celebrated their FIRST DAY OF PRE-K with a yard greeting! 🎒✏️🍎

And then I heard that he was so excited to show his daddy his sign when he got home from work. 🥹

THAT is what makes this job so rewarding.

Birthdays, babies, graduations, first days of school, new jobs, retirements—or simply reminding someone how loved they are… there is always something worth celebrating.

Eight years later, I’m not just celebrating some of the same families—I’m getting to celebrate the next generation. ❤️

Thank you to every family who has allowed Sign Gypsies to be a tiny part of your BIG moments over the years.

Friday evening, we set up a birthday greeting and realized we had accidentally added an extra “E” to Mrs. Kimberly’s name. 🤦‍♀️

As always, we text the person who booked the greeting once after the installation. Maryann noticed the mistake, kindly let us know, and showed us nothing but grace while we corrected it ASAP. ❤️

After 8½ years in business, I’d love to say mistakes never happen—but we’re human, and occasionally they do. What matters is owning them and making them right!
