A wedding tasting can bring you closer to crafting the perfect celebration. Tastings are an exciting part of the planning process where couples get to sample the menu options for their big day. It’s not just about tasting food; it’s an opportunity to envision how each dish will complement the overall theme and atmosphere of your big day!

During a tasting, couples can explore options from their menu proposal that include appetizers, main courses, side selections and desserts. This experience allows them to discuss preferences, dietary restrictions, presentation styles, and any rentals or planning services directly with our owner / chef.

Kick off 2025 with these tried and true foods that symbolize prosperity, health and good fortune!

Share yours below!! I want to hear what traditions you have on day 1 of the New Year!

Some traditions include:
* Black Eyed Peas - resembling coins, these beans are said to bring prosperity in the new year! This classic can be found in a traditional southern dish, known as Hoppin' John

* Grapes - A Spanish tradition! Eat 12 grapes at midnight to encourage good fortune throughout the year. 1 for every resolution. Some say that eating these grapes under a table will bring love in the new year!

* Pork, Pork, Pork! - Bring on the bacon!! Pigs root forward while they forage for food (as opposed to cows who stand still, or chickens who scratch backwards). Pork of all forms is enjoyed by many hoping to embrace the challenges and adventures that await in the coming year.

* Long Noodles - Signifying longevity in Asian culture, a stir-fry of unbroken noodles is a tradition believed to bring good health and luck in the New Year!

* Round Foods - Yes! It's OK to enjoy just one more cookie, cake or pastry (even round fruits, like clementines). The round shape signifies that the old year has come to a close and the new year holds a promise of a fresh start!

*Whole Fish - In Chinese culture, serving a fish whole (head and tail intact) symbolize prosperity and a good year to come, from start to finish.

* Cabbage - An Eastern European tradition, said to bring prosperity in the year ahead! Mix sauerkraut with pork for a delicious and prosperous New Years meal!

I am originally from PA, so our family will be enjoying the Pennsylvania Dutch tradition of pork and sauerkraut. I am always interested in learning the different cultures and there are so many traditions, so please share yours!
