Ever since I was a little kid I knew that I wanted to be an artist and that was always my answer when I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. Though the kind of artists changed a lot especially when I was really young and trying out different art supplies. It just took me a long time to figure out what my preferred medium to work with was and then how to make it an accessible career for my
self. Because unfortunately while I was attending college to move towards the career I wanted as a freelance custom designer and hopefully continuing to get my Masters to also become a teacher, I developed fibromyalgia and I needed to take a medical withdrawal from school to focus on finding out what else was going on with my health. It turns out that I have a real sleep disorder called idiopathic hypersomnia and between having fibromyalgia and the sleep disorder I decided I had to reevaluate what if anything I was going to do for a career. Well one day last spring after making a coat to wear in competition at Costume-con40 that has the zodiac constellations embroidered on the coat with all the stars utilizing glow-in-the-dark thread a friend of mine asked me if I could make wall hangings with the zodiac constellations. Well that got me thinking that making wall hangings and other items I have in the works it would allow me to have items at a variety of price points. Especially because once I am fully up and running to make costumes for customers each piece will be made to measure, so that was why it was so important to me to find items I could make to sell with the costumes to allow a variety of price points.
