I was so honored to be invited to paint at Sharswood Plantation’s 5th annual Juneteenth. So many great kids and adults I got to spend time with today and the music was phenomenal! The best part for me was seeing this kid. He was my daughter’s best friend all through elementary school and spent many hang-out days at my house. I love what I do, I love the encounters I am blessed to make.

I used to have books full of pictures and ideas that I carried to events. I had sandwich boards with pictures galore, but over the last few years when a client sits in my chair and says What can you do? I just tell them, I can paint anything. And man do they come up with some great stuff!!
These kids are full of imagination that even as a creative, I stand in awe.
Tonight it was can you make me a turtle with a baseball for a shell?
Or how about a rainbow dinosaur playing t-ball? Of course my mind goes to a T-Rex with his little T-Rex arms trying to swing a bat at a tee. I smile the whole time I’m delivering the request.
Or the one that asks for an alligator in an alligator pond? Yes, Yes I can.
And the mom says can you tell we just moved here from Florida?? 😂 Let me give you a little reminder of home.
Every time I think I’m getting to old for this, I have a couple of events back to back that remind me how much I love these kids and and how blessed I am to do what I get to do.
Thanks for a great couple of days Danville Public Library and Kentuck Youth League. You all were a lot of fun. ❤️
