An Ode To Princess Performers ๐
On this most illustrious of days โ the grand and glorious National Princess Day โ I simply must extend a royal missive to the noble sisters who bring storybook magic to life with nothing but a wig, a dream, and the deeply misguided confidence that we can, in fact, put on a full face & wig cap & costume in under an hour while sharing backstage gossip.
Today, we honor the brave souls who:
๐ Sing through sore throats while maintaining perfect princess posture after waking up at 5:30am to get ready
๐ Bend down gracefully (or attempt to) for 472 toddler hugs
๐ Hold character through every unexpected question (โDo you sleep?โ โWhy is your hair white?โ โWhereโs your dragon?โ)
๐ And bestow joy, enchantment, and pixie-dusted memories wherever we roam
To the performers who have survived costume malfunctions, parking deck PANIC, sticky-fingered embraces, last-minute events, and the occasional dad who calls you โElsaโ when you are VERY OBVIOUSLY Cinderella, today, we lift our scepters in triumph.
To the queens of quick changes, the duchesses of dedication, and the princesses of pure-hearted performance โ may your lashes stay glued, your hoop skirts stay tied, your wigs never slip, and your smiles remain as radiant as your ring-light selfies.
Thank you for bringing magic into a world that needs it โ one twirl, song cue, and character-accurate giggle at a time.
So raise your goblets (or your Starbucks or your Alani or your owala) and let us celebrate the noble sisterhood of sparkle we are so lucky to share.
Happy National Princess Day to ones behind the dresses & wigs โ long may you reign.
