The past few years, I have lost many of my best friends, one by one, their lives were cut short by cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and even violence.
My Dad was diagnosed 2 days before Thanksgiving with cancer, he lost his battle on the day after Christmas, it was hard on us, rarely had he ever been ill.
Just 2 months later, my sister, Donna noticed a sore on her tongue, after a few tests, it was confirmed as Stage 2 cancer, surgery with follow up treatments, and we all expected a lengthy recovery, but a recovery no less. On July 3rd, last week😘her body gave out, although, the doctors, nurses and other staff worked for over an hour, we lost her too. I just never thought she not make it, the news hit me like a speeding train, so lost, so sad, so much fear inside just thinking of my remaining loved b. Give me strength, I need it.

Did you know the swan is a symbolism of parenthood? They are also symbolic of love, devotion and partnership. This is likely because swans mate for many years, sometimes for life. It's now no wonder to me why I received such a scalding look from my boss when I offered to paint them black! Looking at this life sized Swan I am taken back by its size. I'd never really considered the size, the weight, the physics of such a creature. Approaching this holiday weekend here is my take home message for each of you: Time Out. Simply stop, and enjoy. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly. Look around. Relax and take in the abundance of life and the overlooked wonders of our world. These are all around us.

I am not sure, exactly, what this is. My guess, some type of light bulb covering. I would have thought a lamp initially, except that the piece is open on both ends. I thought now would be a great time to post this photo. First, it reminds me of the iconic Gay Pride flag. But I couldn’t help but appreciate the black tiles mixed in. Yes, June is pride month. But this year June has taken on new meaning to so many in our world. Through circumstance, cell phone video, and frank injustices social media has publicly emblazoned the pitfalls of our Police forces. Responsively, society now demands reform. We learn, and should teach others, its ok to be curious, but not to judge. Eating lunch with my boss today, discussing a woman walking nearby, he said to me “that’s not black or white, that’s poverty.” A powerful statement that struck me. We all view the world thru our own set of filters, today he helped me to remove one of mine. Black lives matter. My life matters. Your life matters. Godspeed.

Working here – I learn something new every day! Today I learned how to make a fake wood grain effect. For those that follow my postings – My boss ate the pudding. The vertical “wood” piece on my left is what he chose. Not too bad for my first “fake wood grain” experience! Stay tuned as I transform the SS Minnow into Noah’s Arc!
