Event and commercial photography, infomercials and video productions work.
My photography experience began when I was 6 years old when my Great Aunt Marguerite taught me how to use an old Kodak box camera in the early 1960's.
My family had an old Kodak Brownie Hawkeye film camera with the old flash bulb attachment which I used until I could afford my own camera a Kodak Instamatic with the flash cube. Both were state of the art for their time. Later I bought a Polaroid Sw***er instamatic camera which was a black and white camera that produced instant developed photographs. My next camera was a Polaroid color "YES" camera and it was amazing.
During High School a good friend taught me how to use his Minolta SLR 35mm camera. We also learned developing and printing techniques in the school 's photo lab.
In High School I became interested in video cameras and Television production. I attended a summer class at USC called the Television Production Workshop for High School students. Later in my Junior year I wrote a 1/4 point course of study for an Audio Visual Production class in which I was the assistant teacher in my Senior year.
In 1973, at 19, I enlisted into the US Air Force and worked with the American Force Radio and Television Service. In Seoul, South Korea I became a TV Director for the nightly live news casts and expanded my knowledge and skill in Radio and Television broadcasting. In 1977 as a Sargent E4 I was discharged with an Honorable Discharge and continued my photography and video skills in civilian life.
Photography and video became a serious hobby as I learned and progressed trough several cameras and other photo equipment. When the Digital Cameras came out I bought a Nikon D200. Digital photography became a passion for me and I practiced my art form for many years. Gradually my photography went from a serious hobby to a professional photographer.
I joined the Rowlett Texas Photography Club, which was a great decision, meeting and going on many types of photo shoots with my fellow photographers. This has enabled me to advance my education and skills in the art of photography. Last year I upgraded to a Nikon D500 which has advance me to the modern age of DSLR. My skills in composing and processing photography into a "work of art" have brought great joy to me and others.
