I still can’t believe I’m even typing this…

I was accepted into the Goldman Sachs 100 Million Black Women in Business cohort in partnership with NYU Stern.

And if you know my story, you know this didn’t come easy.

In 2017, after being diagnosed with MS, my life shifted in ways I never imagined. I was in and out of the hospital constantly. There was a season where my vision was so bad it felt like someone had pulled a black curtain over my eyes. I couldn’t see. It was one of the scariest times of my life.

There were mornings I woke up and my legs were completely numb. I couldn’t stand. I couldn’t get out of bed. I couldn’t function.

I applied for disability three times.

Denied three times.

At the time, I didn’t understand it. My lawyer didn’t understand it. On paper, it looked like I qualified.

But now I know that was God intervening.

What felt like rejection was protection.
What felt like the end was preparation.

Little did I know, He was building resilience in me. He was strengthening my mind. He was preparing me for rooms I hadn’t even imagined yet.

Never count yourself out.

Even when your body feels like it’s failing you.
Even when people think you’re crazy for dreaming bigger.
Even when it looks like nothing is working in your favor.

God gives the vision to the visionary, not the spectators.

From hospital beds to business cohorts.
From darkness to destiny.

I am walking into this opportunity grateful, humbled, and ready to grow so I can better serve my clients, build legacy, and operate at a higher level.

Someone is fighting a battle nobody sees. Someone feels like their life is over.

And I need them to know — if God did it for me, He can do it for you.

There’s something incredibly humbling about being trusted with one of the most sacred moments in someone’s life.

Being invited into Hector’s vision, hearing his heart behind every detail, and helping bring his proposal to life for Jessica was truly an honor I don’t take lightly. When someone hands you their love story and says, “This is my vision,” it reminds me exactly why I do what I do.

Moments like this are bigger than décor, timelines, or logistics. They’re about intention, emotion, and creating memories that will be talked about for a lifetime.

There is a side of being a business owner that people never really see. And there is a whole other side of living with multiple sclerosis that most people will never understand. When exhaustion kicks in and your body starts breaking down, it takes everything in you to keep going. But I have never let MS stop me from doing anything I want to do in life. I use it to push myself. I use it to inspire myself. I use it as a reminder that God gave me a purpose and I refuse to give in.

This entire week I have been sick. I can literally feel my body shutting down on me. I have had back to back events. I have been working nonstop. And the truth is I am not at a place financially where I can put people on payroll yet. So sometimes finding steady help is hard. Sometimes doing everything myself is hard. But I value my clients and my vendors with everything in me. I owe it to myself and to them to give one hundred percent even when I do not feel one hundred percent.

This is the part that makes my pricing what it is. This is the part people do not see when they ask why something costs what it costs. Because behind every event I create is a woman pushing through pain. Pushing through fatigue. Pushing through symptoms that would make most people stop. I make these events happen because I love what I do. I make them happen because if I do not work I do not get paid. This is my full time job. This is how I take care of my family. And yes it costs me mentally and physically sometimes.

But God gave me this gift for a reason. He trusted me with this talent. He trusted me with this business. And even on the days when my body feels weak I know He is carrying me. I know He has a purpose for me. And I am grateful. I am honored. And I am proud of what I have built.

So when you support a small business owner, please know you are supporting someone who gives everything they have. Someone who shows up even when it hurts. Someone who is choosing purpose over comfort every single day. Thank you to every client who believes in me. Thank you to every person who recommends me. Thank you to everyone who sees my heart in my work. I appreciate you more than you know.

It was an absolute honor, pleasure, and fun adventure working with my amazing couple, Nicole & David 💍 From the planning to the setup — every single detail came together so beautifully. I honestly had the time of my life with y’all!
