For as long as I can remember, my grandmotherāmy sweet Nannieāwas my biggest cheerleader when it came to love. She made the idea of getting married feel like the most magical thing in the world.
When I was just 15, weād visit wedding dress boutiques ājust to look.ā Weād flip through bridal magazines in stores, dreaming up what my big day might look like. Every time we were together, the conversation would find its way back to my future wedding. She called me her princess and used to say, āYouāll kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince.ā She knew Iād fall in love more than once, and always reminded me that the journey would be worth it. At 14, we planned my entire wedding on a single sheet of paper. She folded it neatly, placed it in her lockbox, and told me, āWeāll read this together the morning of your wedding day.ā
But on March 20, 2023, my world changedāGod called Nannie home.
Since then, wedding planning has taken on a deeper purpose. Itās no longer just about the aesthetics of a beautiful dayāitās about honoring her memory. Itās about carrying forward the love, excitement, and unwavering belief she had in my story, and pouring that same energy into others. I want to be the steady voice in the planning process, the calm in the chaos, and the reminder that their story is unique and worthy of celebration.
Thatās also why the heart of my branding is deeply personal. Emerald green and yellow roses are woven into everything I do. Emerald was Nannieās favorite colorāand mine too. It feels like her: strong, timeless, and full of grace. Yellow roses, bright and joyful, remind me of the light she carried and symbolize new beginningsāboth mine and those of the couples I get the honor of celebrating.
Every love story deserves to be celebrated with the same magic Nannie believed ināand Hannah Saffle Weddings is how I carry that magic forward. š
