(26)
I love photography and taking part in making memories! The smiles, the joy, the tears, everything that turns that "snapshot" into a treasured memory. I'm also Dylan and Alicia's dad, and being a father means everything to me. My children are my joy and give me focus. I am a Christian and my faith guides me as I serve others with the gift God has given me. I'm a nerd, cartoon watcher, music lover,
and deep thinker. I am a local Houston Wedding Photographer that believes in offering quality, excellent service, and a personality to fit any occasion. You deserve someone that will help make your special event the memory you expect it to be. My tagline is "your life, your memories, your way". That comes from my belief in the importance of photography to my clients. "Your life" - I have been fortunate to capture several life events of repeat clients and it really brings me joy when they trust those life events - engagement, wedding, maternity, birth, family photos, graduations, etc. "Your memories" - Giving my clients quality photography that they can look back on years later
"Your way" - While I am the one with the experience, the images are yours and not my "artistic vision". As a Houston wedding photographers, I want you as my client to be comfortable during the photo session and once the images are delivered, I want you satisfied. There are a lot of wedding photographers that mask their lack of experience by using too much Photoshop on the images and you no longer look like "you". It's my job to make you look beautiful, without making you look fake. I have been a Houston wedding photographer for over 15 years (which means that you can rest easy on your wedding day because you have someone that can take care of you) and I can honestly say that each one has been different. Yes, there is emotion, there is beauty, and there is fun, but the personalities of each couple make each wedding a very unique experience and I am honored to be a part of each one. I am available to offer coverage for:
Wedding photography (Houston Metro area wedding photography and destination weddings)
Bridal sessions
Engagement sessions
and any other event that you would require photographic coverage for. We have packages starting at $1500 and can forward our complete package information to you, so please let us know what you have set aside for wedding photography and we can better design something to meet your needs. Please don't base a day as important as your wedding day on price, give us the opportunity to serve you. Even though I am a Houston photographer, I am available to travel to any destination you need to cover your event. I LOVE to travel!!! Click on any of the albums to view examples of the quality I can provide you. I look forward to serving you.
Great time of day for family photos in the summertime. Nice lighting, plenty of shade
Talk about a flashback and a great memory! The Houston Oilers are considered a National Treasure (at least for Houstonians) so while I was waiting on an event I was hired for last night, this lively group of ladies were holding their own event across the hall! I also had the honor of shooting their group/team photo and super excited!

Being a native Houstonian, 7/13 is a big deal. Here is to celebrating the 4th largest city in the USA #713
I will likely make a blog post about this but let's start here. These two incidents are a few years old but it happens more often than not and there is plenty of blame to go around. In each instance, the brides were wrong for hiring a friend for such an important day in an effort to save money (one was paid $250 for 8 hours) and the "photographers" were wrong because, professional or not, they accepted money for a service and failed to provide that service. Neither photogrpaher was a professional as this was just a hobby for them but once you take money for a service, you become one.
Let this serve as a warning.....in an era of cameras on phones, professional equipment available to anyone that can afford it...clients need to be mindful of the phrase...you get what you pay for....
Being in love is not just for the young, but also for the young at heart.
Speaking of cosplay.....Poison Ivy ladies and gentlemen....
Sometimes I get to combine my love of photography with other passions. If you didn't already know, I am a HUGE nerd and love anime and a lot of cosplay and being able to photograph this wedding was beyond fun for me! It was actually my first time visiting the Texas Renaissance Festival and I look forward to attending more often!
More AI from .firefly Huskies and German Shepherd Dogs are my favorite and I like how these were rendered
Doing a beta test for .firefly and I’m seriously impressed by the quality of the results I’m seeing so far!
As wedding trends continue to change, more and more couples find it easier to have all-inclusive wedding venues where the ceremony and reception are on the same premises.
But is that ideal?
Hosting your wedding ceremony and reception at the same venue like can come with some pretty awesome perks that will make your life easier as you continue your planning. For instance, by booking one location, you only have to deal with one contract, one venue coordinator, etc. The entire booking process is streamlined and straightforward. 💒
One-stop venues also allow you and your guests to save time and money on transportation. You won’t need to provide transportation from the ceremony to the reception, and your guests won’t have to be worried about getting lost as they travel from point A to point B. 📍
And for these reasons, you may notice that attendance will be up! More people won’t have to choose if they should attend one or the other with one location.
Your wedding flowers and arrangements can sometimes take up a large chunk of your overall budget, and rightfully so. They help add ambiance and pops of color to your wedding venue.
But while picking your dream flower arrangements might seem like a pretty straightforward process, there are certainly some common mistakes that can prolong the process and add more headaches to your wedding planning process.
Here are two wedding flower mistakes you should try to avoid at all costs:
1️⃣ Ordering your flowers too late - not all flowers are available year-round, so if when talking with your florist, you decide on season flowers that aren’t available in your area, you may be required to order them and have them shipped directly to you. If this is the case, you may require additional time.
2️⃣ Using only one color - while you may have a set color scheme for your wedding, don’t oversaturate your venue with one color. If your bridesmaids' dresses are teal, it’s probably best to avoid teal flowers. Instead, opt for an accent color that will complement other areas of dress and decor.

Your guests' comfort can be an important aspect of your wedding day that can sometimes go unnoticed. And that includes the seats you choose for the ceremony or reception.
Let us be the first to tell you that not all chairs are created equal.
If you want to boost their comfort levels and make sure that their derrières are sitting pretty, you may need to consider spending a little extra money to help your guests feel like they’re sitting on air.
Here are a few of the most popular rental chair types:
🪑 Ghost Chair - perhaps the most popular type right now, these seats add a bit of modern décor to your wedding space.
🪑 Bamboo Folding Chair - these exotic chairs are the perfect fit for a destination wedding.
🪑 Bistro Café Chairs - no matter the shape, color, or size, these go-to seats will make each of your guests feel as though they’ve been transported to a Parisian café, living their best lives.
These are only a few of the various options you have to choose from. Want to continue exploring more rental chair options and talk pricing? Contact today!
Choosing a photographer for your destination wedding can be a crucial moment in the planning process, and with it comes one important question: should you pay to fly out your wedding photographer from home or book a local in your destination?
While there’s no right or wrong answer, there are some personal preferences that may impact your decision.
The largest factor in your decision will be expenses. Flying a photographer to your destination wedding can be quite costly, especially when you factor in airfare, accommodations, and transportation. In some cases, meal expenditures and other expenses may be written into your contract. In most cases, the cost is not as big as you my think and you have someone that is available to you before AND after the wedding!
If you don’t already take care of your skin, you may want to start in the weeks or even days leading up to your wedding.
There’s no bigger wedding disaster than waking up on the day of your wedding with a massive acne breakout.
To help ensure your skin is glowing on your wedding day, follow these quick and easy tips:
✨ You’ll want to establish your skin regiment well in advance of your big day. Every person’s skin is slightly different, but you’ll always need to stick to the same skin fundamentals that are required no matter how dry, or oily your skin is. By having a regiment in place ahead of time, you can stay ahead of bad reactions or products that don’t cooperate with your skin.
✨ Using a mixture of products that help hydrate and exfoliate your skin is a great place to start. A proper moisturize can also prevent dry and itchy skin.
✨ And while it may not be summer, that using sunscreen and other forms of sun protection can protect against UV rays that can damage your skin over time.
✨ Regular exercise and a balanced diet can also help keep your skin looking wedding-ready.
To try and save a penny here and there, some newly-engaged couples may try their best to avoid hiring a wedding planner to aid them in the wedding planning process. And thus, the question remains, “Is a wedding planner required for most weddings?”
To help guide you to the answer to this question, here are a few scenarios that may fit your lifestyle:
♦️ You’re behind on your wedding checklists and schedules.
♦️ You and your partner work full-time and have little to no time to dedicate to wedding planning.
♦️ You lack any outside help with planning from family or friends.
♦️You have no real vision for your wedding.
If you see yourself in any of the above scenarios, it’s probably best to book a wedding planner.
Don’t forget that in addition to saving you time and money with all areas of your wedding, a planner also provides insider connections and a portfolio of experience that can help you avoid careless mistakes that may occur if you took on the planning all on your own.
Still on the fence about hiring a wedding planner? Give a call today and find out how she can help streamline the planning process to achieve the wedding of your dreams.
When picking out your dream wedding dress, you may also have to choose the gown train that best goes with your dress.
that your venue may play a big factor in your train length?
A sweep gown train often measures just 6 inches beyond your dress's hem and allows for minimal movement where the train tail is concerned. This relatively short train is most effective in any wedding venue but is likely your best option for an outdoor wedding because it is easiest to walk in.
The most popular train type, the Chapel train, will give a look of eloquence without being overly long or dramatic. This type of train will do in most wedding venues and allow for a slow and sophisticated saunter down the aisle.
The Royal train will require some practice walking down the aisle. It is not usually chosen for weddings due to the extra attention that the bridesmaids require to help their friend get down the aisle, not to mention your venue will need to be spacious to pull off such a grandeur look.
Need help deciding on a train length? Give a call with all your wedding attire questions.
When it comes time to pick out dresses for your bridesmaids, it maybe hard to choose dresses that match each person’s personality and body type. This is where the trend of mismatched dresses can be a bride’s best friend.
Whether their dresses are mismatched in style or color, there are ways to make the differences appear minimal when it comes time to walk down the aisle. Here are a few quick tips when coordinating mismatched dresses:
If opting for different dresses in the same color, try to stick to the same designer. This is your best bet for ensuring all dress colors are an exact match.
The same dress in different colors can remain cohesive. The easiest way to achieve a unique color palette is to dress your girls in various shades of the same color or, at the very least similar hues if you’re looking for a more diverse color range.
And if neither the color nor style match, you can still pull off a cohesive theme by looking at dresses that flatter each girl while containing similar elements that can pull together. Just be sure to give your girls guidelines to help aid in the selection process.
Don’t let the rain ruin your wedding date. 🌧️
It’s highly unlikely that your wedding day will be the first to usher in the potential for a scattered shower or inclement weather. But how you choose to handle and prepare for the onset of a bit of bad weather can make all the difference. ☔
Your best bet is to plan ahead. Always have a backup plan just in case your outdoor ceremony or reception isn’t possible. This can be as simple as moving indoors, using tents with side attachments to block out a bit of rain or snow. ⛺
When prepping for an outdoor wedding, also consult with your makeup artist and hair person. Ask if they can utilize water-resistant products that can help make touch-ups easy. 💄
The addition of shawls, blankets, and clear umbrellas can also help keep you and your guests dry and warm during your ceremony or reception.
When in doubt, the best advice is to talk with your wedding planner and venue coordinator to discuss a plan for handling last-minute changes to your wedding timeline.
You’ve spent most of your young life dreaming about your wedding day, so don’t let the untimely wardrobe malfunction put a damper on your special day.
But with an emergency bag full of a few essential items, you can help combat even the direst malfunctions with the greatest of ease.
Here are a few must-haves for any on-site wardrobe dilemmas:
🧵 Club Soda - The bubbles from this bottled drink can help soak up anything from lipstick stains to wine and food remnants.
🧵 Fashion Tape - Avoid a plunging neckline by securing your dress in place, or use this tape to help fix a fresh tear when stitches come apart.
🧵 Extra Shoes - Shoes take it rough. If your feet are hurting or you break a heel, it’s always best to have a few options on hand.
🧵 Lint Rollers - No one wants wedding photos with their dress covered in lint or other fuzzballs that seemingly appeared out of thin air.
Preparing to say, “I do,” during a destination wedding can come with its fair share of difficulties that can result in some additional planning on both the couple and wedding planners’ parts in the months leading up to your international affair.
A year before your first kiss as husband and wife, you’ll need to have a set budget and a firm draft of your guest list, as well as your country or region where you’ll be getting married. You may also want to look into marriage license options, hire both a wedding planner and travel agent, and ensure that you and your future spouse have your passports. ✈️
With 9 to 12 months left until the big day, you’ll also want to book your airline fare and begin searching for wedding vendors in the area that are available to work your set date. 🗺️
In the weeks leading up to your wedding, you’ll want to finalize and confirm your RSVPs, make sure hotel bookings and flights are all good to go, and ensure that you have all the required vaccines and travel documentation needed to travel and wed in another part of the world. 🧳

It’s no surprise that every woman wants to look her best in her engagement photos. But how do you successfully pull off a photo-worthy look even in the harshest winter or blazing summer heat?
We’ve got you covered.
To combat the cold temps of the fall and winter months, we suggest layering yourself in long-sleeve shirts and knit items. Think comfy sweater dresses or tall boots and your favorite flannels.
If considering an outdoor backdrop, you may want to plan your outfits to match the scenery. You wouldn’t want to blend in too much and get lost in your photos.
Spring and Summer photo sessions are the perfect time to take advantage of natural sunlight and beauty backdrops, and you’ll certainly want your attire to match. Think bright colors and breathable fabrics that can help add to the overall joy on your face after recently securing the ring!
Midi and wrap dresses, and all things nautical can help set the mood for a successful day of playing supermodel.

Signage is an often overlooked feature of most weddings.
Whether it's because there isn't room in the budget or simply a matter of not enough time, a lack of signage on your wedding day can cause more trouble than it's worth.
Depending on your venue, there may be multiple weddings or events going on at once. Without proper signage telling guests where to go, your family and friends may find themselves being wedding crashers. ⬅️↩️↗️
Signs aren't just for wayfinding, but for style, too. 💅
Consider adding signs as decorative elements or as labels for food during your buffet-style dinner. Clearly labeling your food items can help you avoid potential food allergy emergencies from occurring. 🍲🆘
that tables and chairs aren't the only wedding day items you can rent from vendors?
There are various shops and wedding vendors that will allow you to rent furniture and other decor items to help give your wedding reception a bit of personality? Everything from rustic armchairs and sofas to wooden arbors and other standout architectural items can help bring your theme to life and make your wedding day feel more like YOU! 🪑🛋️
Traditional wedding bouquets were so yesterday!
When it comes to creating florals bouquets that speak to you and your wedding, you may opt for something beyond the bouquets we've come to know and love. In some instances, they aren't for everyone and can rack up quite the hefty expense. 💐
There are many different ways you can embrace the effect of a moral bouquet without going over the top. Instead of bouquets, try creating bridal and bridesmaid wreaths. These can include significantly fewer flowers, while still getting the point across.
You can also make bouquets out of unconventional materials such as paper flowers or balloons. You may also want to try giving each bridesmaid something unique like a pinwheel or lantern to tie the theme together for outdoor weddings. 🎈🏮
For some, the new year is rung in on when the calendar turns from December 31 to January 1. But there are many others who celebrate the new year on a different day. The Lunar New Year is an international holiday celebrated in many Asian countries, but not all, and the United States even has its own celebrations.
Unlike Western New Year’s, the date of Lunar New Year changes depending on the year. But regardless of the date, each culture that celebrates the Lunar New Year has lasting customs, traditions and beliefs.
Globally, around two billion people celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Symbols of both beauty and refinement, orchids are quickly becoming a must-have in terms of wedding day flowers. 🀣
there are more than 20,000 types of orchids, but the most commonly used ones are Phalaenopsis or "moth" orchids. Their eccentric shapes and curved stems can make an elegant yet bold statement at both your ceremony and reception. 💮
When mixing orchids with other flowers for bouquets or table centerpieces, you can instantly heighten the arrangements with a pop of color or texture. They can also easily transform into wearable creations such as leis and boutonnieres.
Their unique look and feel are also perfect for more dramatic decor, such as strands of orchids and crystals, creating a high-hanging visual over the dinner tables or a flowery canopy or chuppah that is sure to make a statement.
Looking for even more ways to use orchids in your wedding decor? Call us today!
There's nothing worse than hiring a DJ for your wedding reception, only to discover that none of your guests are making an effort to get up and dance. Perhaps you would have been better off booking a live band?
This constant dilemma of choosing between a wedding and or DJ can be stressful for most couples, especially when there's so much to consider. 🎼
DJs are a great fit to liven up the party, and they come with a pretty big repertoire of music to choose from. Not to mention they take up less space than a full-sized band. 🎧🎙️
With that said, a wedding band may be the right fit for your wedding day. While they may be a bit more expensive and have a more limited music diversity, they can also help gauge a crowd of guests and play to their desires. A band is also a great addition for specific themes chosen for your big day. 🎸
Dancing with your parents has long been a tradition at wedding receptions. Whether your mother or father are total novices or light on their feet, the song choice can make or break the moment.
From time to time, the song choice for these emotional moments can get a bit cringe due to the overall cheesiness of it all. No one should feel like their song choice is too cheesy on their special day, or that guests will judge them based on their preferences. 💃🕺
Here's a tip: when choosing a song to dance to, pay attention to the lyrics. The lyricism can tell you a lot about whether or not it's a good fit. Just because the title may seem appropriate doesn't mean lines with a little more ooh-la-la aren't going to leave people with the "eww" sensation. 🎶
Because having the picture-perfect wedding is a once in a lifetime ordeal, there can be a lot of pressure on the couple to get things right. One of the biggest stressors of planning a wedding is picking the perfect location for the wedding.
Honestly, while you want to be accommodating to your family and other guests, the venue location should be what YOU want, whether it's something indoors or outdoors, something more metropolitan or more of a rural or country chic. The location should be something that gives you comfort. 🤗
If you're paying for the wedding, you ultimately have more freedom with where you choose to wed.
But other factors to consider when choosing a venue is accessible to vendors. Smaller, more rural areas may not have a wide range of vendors that will come to you or work with your choice of venues. More cityscape areas are more open to having an influx of vendors willing to work with your venue.
Schedule a consultation today and let us help you narrow down your dream wedding destination.
While there are many elements of a wedding that can be easily added or mixed depending on the couple's desires, there's no wedding without a venue. Otherwise, there'd be no place for family and friends to gather on your special day.
When choosing a venue for your wedding, it's important to keep your wedding style in mind. It's your big day, so get married in a place that meets all your wants and needs. It can be easy to fall in love with wedding styles and themes you see online, but your venue must stay authentic to you as a couple.
And taking that notion a step further, a venue that may work for one theme or aesthetic may not always work for what you have in mind. In cases such as this, don't change your wants to fit a venue that isn't right for you.
When choosing a photographer for your wedding, you mustn't sign a contract based on recommendation alone.
These photographs from your wedding are going to be something you look back on for a lifetime, so you want them to be the best that they can be. To make this a reality, you need to take a look at a photographer's gallery of work. The photos can be solely wedding-related or broader offerings from the photographer. 📸
When flipping through albums and looking at galleries, ask yourself these questions:
🔸Are the photos consistent?
🔸How does the photographer tell the story of the wedding/event?
🔸Are the images sharp?
🔸Do you appreciate their editing style?
🔸How does the photographer use lighting to photograph the ceremony and reception? How do the two compare?
Need a helping hand with picking out your wedding photographer? Contact us today for a consultation call to help give you more insight into how to snag the photographer of your dreams.
With the proposal a complete success, it's time to inform all your family and friends of your recent engagement. One of the most successful ways to accomplish this is with an engagement photoshoot. 📷
Here's a pro-tip: No matter where you plan on having your photos taken, always make use of natural lighting but as it gets closer to the Golden Hour, adding some flash makes the photos look nice also. 💥💥💥
We recommend early morning or evening as the best times to take your engagement photos, and your photographer will agree. At these times of day, you can make use of the warm sunrise and sunset to help make your smile and your bling-bling jump out of your photos. 🌅🌇
I had the opportunity to trave to Austin, Texas and take some beautiful family photos in the lobby of the Driskill Hotel. They have a BEAUTIFUL 16ft Christmas tree and it was the perfect backdrop! Looking forward to visiting again!
