Letter from the Fools
HELP US SAVE OUR BAR! Hello Facebook! Sorry, this is a long one, but it must be. It's no longer a secret that Nashville Nights is for sale, and while it breaks my heart to admit it. The bar died a long time ago. The owner, God bless her I love her dearly, simply has too much going on to add turning a dying bar that got thrown at her by unfortunate circumstances into what it could be, but this place has been my home and the customers my family for over 10 years so I can't let it go without a fight.
If you have talked to me for any amount of time in the last few months, you know my friend Kelly and I have been working nonstop to try to buy Nash. Our problem is that we don't have anything other than a dream. We see what the bar was and what it could be. We see the potential it has. We know the magic it has. If you have been there for any reason, see your favorite band and listen to your favorite music, dance with your friends, or celebrate a birthday. To sing on that stage for karaoke or get up there and rock out with complete strangers for jam night. If you have been there for any reason, you know how amazing the place is as well.
Our first attempt was a few months ago. We put our heads together and came up with a seller financing offer and presented it to the boss lady. Well, while she loved the idea, she's ready to retire and doesn't want to wait 10 years to do it. That hurt, but it was completely understandable. So, we went to every bank you can think of trying to get a loan. They all said the same thing. Since we don't own anything for collateral, we need 30%-40% down payment. It seems unrealistic but still we didn't give up. We built a new proposal and began a hunt. Find a single Partner or a few investors, raise as much money as we could and use it on a down payment, much needed renovations, and working capital to get us started. We have sent that first proposal to dozens of prospective investors, and while we haven't found a partner or investors yet, I'm happy to say we do have a few prospects very interested in the idea, so we still have not lost hope. That proposal has now evolved from about 20 pages to over 100, so if you or anyone you know would have any interest, please reach out. I'd be happy to send it to you.
Now you are probably wondering why all this effort is for a dying bar, and that is a fair question. Yes, like I said in the beginning, Nashville Nights is dead, but like a phoenix rising from the ashes, its spirit can survive and rise as something beautiful. Nashville Nights has not been a "country" bar for a very long time, and it's time for the name of the bar to reflect that. So inspired by the two people foolish enough to try and pull this off, I introduce to you Two Fools Tavern.
Here is where we need your help. Before some random corporation buys the building and turns it into something else or one of these rich pervert bar owners that keep getting blasted on the internet adds it to their collection. Help us turn this place into what it deserves to be not only for us but for the people who call the Akron-Canton area home.
We will be using the one thing all humans have available this day in age, the power of the internet! This letter is the start of an aggressive social media campaign to raise funds to buy, renovate, and rebrand Nashville Nights. We will also be selling tee shirts, hoodies, pint glasses, hats, etc...to help raise money. As well as a crowd funding campaign with tier-based rewards for your donations. We will do everything we can to make this dream become reality. So please follow our page, share the content, and watch to see if these two fools can pull this thing off.
Thank you for reading
Sincerely the first two fools,
Darren and Kelly
P.S. Someone help us get ahold of Jon Taffer! We need help over here!
