This the third painting I completed along the Beehive Basin Trail, Montana, as part of the Paint Under the Big Sky Plein Air event.

This is the 3rd piece in a three-part series capturing the elevation and landscape scenery along the trail. For this study, I hiked approximately 2.25 miles in to capture one of many Beehive Basin’s beautiful alpine meadows against the backdrop of Montana’s big sky and Beehive Basin’s glacial cirque.

The Painting:

Series: Beehive Basin (3 of 3)
Medium: Oil on gessoed 9X12 birch panel
Location: Beehive Basin Trail, Big Sky, MT

The other two studies in this series were completed at different locations along the same trail, exploring varying light and geology.

This the second painting I completed along the Beehive Basin Trail, Montana, as part of the Paint Under the Big Sky Plein Air event.

This is the 2nd piece in a three-part series capturing the elevation and landscape scenery along the trail. For this study, I hiked approximately 4 miles in to capture the Beehive Basin lake with the stunning Montana’s big sky & basin’s glacial cirque serving as the backdrop.
