🌸👑 The Dahlia Queen herself finally made it to the farm! 👑🌸

Laura Zlomek has been waiting all season to frolic through the dahlias, and what better day to make it happen than her BIRTHDAY! 🎂💐

And she didn’t come alone! She brought some wonderful friends from Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation to share in the beauty of the flower field! 🌺🦋

We are especially grateful for these incredible people and the love, kindness, and compassion they show our mother and all the residents every single day. 💕

It was such a joy to welcome you to our little slice of heaven and share something we love with people who give so much of themselves to others.

Happy Birthday, Queen Laura! 👑🌸 May your day be as beautiful as the dahlias you came to frolic through!

This is a double nomination!!! Read carefully.
Please nominate one nursing home EMPLOYEE and one LOVED ONE residing in a local nursing home! The staff folks work extra hard making our loved ones feel comfortable. As many of you, our mother is back at the amazing Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation. We are forever grateful for the care and comfort they provide Mother. Today, I was visiting Mom and had a beautiful bouquet for her. When I stepped off the elevator, it was lunch time so many residents were lined up waiting to go down to the cafeteria. They oooed and awed over the flowers and I felt terrible I didn’t have one for each of them. So, I came home and made a bunch of bouquets for the cafeteria tables and one big one to put on display at each nurses station. Michael and Chrissy helped with delivery so it was a McCagh Siblings team effort. Casey and I grow these flowers because we know how much flowers can brighten one’s soul. Please help us spread some cheer to the employees and a loved one. We will choose a random winner on Friday. Only catch is we WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DELIVER.

Employee Winners will have to PICK UP and nominators will have to pick up for their loved ones as Casey and I will be out of town this weekend. Thanks for supporting us!!

💕🌸 I can finally share the photos from Colleen’s wedding! 🌸💕

Getting all those flowers from Cumberland to Nags Head was no small feat! There was plenty of stress, a little chaos, and a whole lot of love poured into every single bloom. But seeing my girl so happy on her special day made every stressful moment worth it! ❤️

There’s something extra special about growing the flowers for your own daughter’s wedding. Every petal was picked with love, and every arrangement came straight from our hearts. 🌸

To Colleen Erin and Michael Morehead, may your marriage be filled with endless love, laughter, happiness, and beautiful memories. Watching you begin this new chapter together was worth every mile and every flower-filled bucket!

Sometimes a flower delivery turns into something much more. 🌸

I recently delivered flowers to a new customer, and the moment I walked up to her house, I could tell she was a gardener. Her flower beds had clearly been loved for years, but she recently had a fall and hasn’t been able to care for them like she normally does.

So today, I went back.

I started cleaning, transplanting, and giving her garden a little love again. She wanted to pay me, and I told her No, this is one of our good deeds — from one gardener to another and it makes me feel good that I can help you”.

Before I left, she gave me two hydrangeas and some bulbs from her own garden. ❤️

My work there isn’t finished, but today was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best things we grow aren’t flowers at all.

Fall is the perfect time to plan for next year! 🌿🌸 We transformed a stone flower bed for a customer who travels often, planting nigella, Black-eyed Susans, balloon flowers, calendula, columbine, and Creeping Jenny—all grown here at Creekside Flower Farm—to provide color from spring through fall and zero maintenance on their end. Once perennials are established they are care free!

The Creeping Jenny is especially meaningful because it came from our dear friend Iris Halmos. Since this customer was also a friend of Iris, we loved giving her a little piece of Iris to grow in her own yard. 💛

Here’s a picture of what this bed will look like in the spring, once the plants begin waking up and filling in with fresh color and texture. 🌱🌼
