So we cooked a few things using the SERIAL GRILLER cookbook, gotta say - ate pretty well. Super surprised at how well the grilled okra came out! The color on those ribs with our smoker was a treat. Finished both racks with a quick char to get a wonderful smokey char flavor.

Not even halfway through and we’ve seen some fantastic cookbooks, each has a charm.

I fell in love with this one when I got to the page that said ‘Hill Country Barbecue’, and we are partial to Central Texas style brisket. Diving deeper into the book, it’s laid out as a complete game plan, here’s the menu, here’s the time line.

We will be visiting this book often, summer parties and great food is in the forecast.

Day 9 - the assignment: BBQ Sandwich

We started with a five hour smoke on our Outlaw Smoker, adopted a cranberry jalapeño sauce and a side of black-eyed peas from the 12 Bones Smokehouse cookbook and really enjoyed lunch. (Those black-eyed peas will be our new New Years Day dish IYKYK)
