It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce our event for this coming Saturday has been canceled. We are still trying to get another suitable location where we can celebrate and proudly share our traditions, so we will keep you posted.

Panama has unique Caribbean traditions. Indigenous, Spanish and African influences are intertwined in customs, creating a unique cultural mosaic. Furthermore, Panama's Afro-Caribbean communities have brought their amazing customs, music, and dance to the cultural landscape.

June is Caribbean Heritage Month in the United States, where the traditions and contributions of the Caribbean community are celebrated. This month, known as National Caribbean-American Month, honors the rich culture and diversity of Caribbeans in American society. Various activities, festivals, and events are held that celebrate Caribbean history and culture, as well as the importance of the Caribbean community in society.

No matter your roots, come celebrate with us on June 14th at Heritage Park an eventful day of dancing, music, good company and traditions.

What countries will be represented during our Festival? So glad you asked!! Caribbean cultures and traditions are alive now more than even in our state. So, to begin our countdown until our event, we want to share with you some of these amazing lifestyles, music and art.

CUBA (The largest island in the Caribbean)

Main music genres: son, salsa, rumba, mambo, timba and more!!
Typical dish/food: congris (rice&bean cooked together), ropa vieja (shredded beef), plantains, tamales, avocado and yuca root

Famous painters: Amelia Pelaez, Wilfredo Lam, Roberto Fabelo, Nelson Dominguez, KCHO and a favorite, Cosme Proenza.

Greatest musicians: Ernesto Lecuona, Benny More, Compay Segundo, Ibrahim Ferrer, Elena Burke, Chucho Valdez, ......

We are very proud and excited to announce that Ms. Dahlia Welch and Mr. Christopher Urista will be participating in our Festival as official judges during our Caribbean Dance Competition. Prior to the competition, they will also be giving a FREE SALSA & MERENGUE LESSON to all attendees!!!

We are still accepting applications for all type of vendors and food trucks for our 1st Texas Caribbean Festival that will take place on June 14th at Heritage Park in Corpus Christi. It will be an all-day event running from 11am to 8pm. We'll have live music, activities for the kiddos, car show, beer & liquor and a lot of dancing! All vendor categories are accepted. We also looking for a bachata/salsa band that would like to participate.
*** Sorry, but we are already saturated in following categories****
-aguas frescas/lemonade
-jewelry

Artisan/craft/services vendor $75
$100 for food vendor
$120 for food truck
** Electricity provided upon request, at no additional charge**
