It’s a fun, creative, & engaging alternative to traditional fair contests—complete with ribbons, cash prizes, bragging rights, & plenty of community spirit. Columbus Cookie Classic is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Shares of Mid-Ohio/In(form)ed, a registered Ohio nonprofit corporation and recognized as tax-exempt under IRS Code 501(c)(3).

🍪WE’RE HALFWAY THERE!🍪

The Columbus Cookbook Challenge is 50% of the way to our goal of 100 Columbus bakers baking all 100 cookie recipes in Cookies: The Best Recipes for the Perfect Anytime Treat by Vaughn Vreeland and New York Times Cooking.

That means we still have plenty of recipes waiting for Columbus bakers to claim.

This is not a competition. There are no judges, scores or trophies. Just a group of bakers coming together to take on one very ambitious challenge, bake a whole lot of cookies and build some community along the way.

Claim your spot for a 🍪 recipe today! Not sure which recipe to choose? Sign up as a wildcard baker and let us choose for you. You can also volunteer as an emergency baker and be ready to step in if a recipe becomes available.

NEW EVENT: WE’RE GOING TO BAKE THE BOOK! 🍪📖

Introducing the Columbus Cookbook Challenge, a brand-new, NON-COMPETITIVE Columbus Cookie Classic event where ~100 Columbus bakers come together to bake all 100 recipes from Cookies: The Best Recipes for the Perfect Anytime Treat by Vaughn Vreeland & New York Times Cooking.
We're baking up one giant cookie potluck!

On Sunday, October 4, thanks to support from ECDI and The Columbus Foundation,we’re bringing Columbus bakers together to:

🍪 Bake every recipe in the book
🍪 Meet fellow cookie obsessed bakers
🍪 Try 100 different cookies
🍪 Eat an absurd number of cookies
🍪 Raise money for the Gifts of Kindness Fund

This isn’t a competition. There are no judges, no scores and no trophies. Just a room full of bakers, cookie-lovers, a LOT of cookies and a shared goal: COMMUNITY!

Bakers will claim one or more of the 100 recipes and bring a full batch to the event. Want a little more adventure? You can also sign up as a wildcard baker or emergency baker.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: OATMEAL IS NOW IN THE COOKIE CLASSIC. 🚨

Yes, you read that right.

For the first time ever, the Columbus Cookie Classic is adding a brand-new competition category:
OATMEAL. 🍪
And before you ask: NO CHOCOLATE

Your best oatmeal cookie with any mix ins, drizzles, magic, etc. Just no chocolate chips hiding in there. No exceptions.

Of course, the Chocolate Chip category is back, because some things are classic for a reason.

Think your cookie has what it takes? Cookie Baker applications are officially OPEN!

Liz Martin and Tania along with Joe Schinner showed out at the 🍪Chocolate Chip Cookie category for the Ohio State Fair this year!
Liz Martin took home 1st and 3rd in Chocolate Chip, while Tania took home 1st in Sourdough Cookies and Sourdough Bakes with Blueberry Muffins.

We hung out with CCC pal Joe Schinner who entered for the first time and we all learned a lot sitting through 5 hours of judging multiple cookie categories!

We can't wait for CCC November 8th to bring the best aspects of the fair competition and our own brand of community spirit to and thoughtful touches on baking competitions to SEVENTH SON BREWING CO. 🍪🍪🍪

🍪 IT’S NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DAY. 🍪

And frankly, we think that warrants a little horn tooting for our local Columbus bakers!

Chocolate chip cookies are simple. They’re nostalgic. They’re endlessly customizable. And, apparently, they’re also VERY serious business. 😉

Last year, Columbus Cookie Classic bakers proved just how many ways there are to make a great chocolate chip cookie, from miso and toasted sugar and milk powder to classic family recipes and everything in between.

So today, we have one very important question:
What makes YOUR chocolate chip cookie the best in Columbus?

Because on Sunday, November 8, we’re bringing the Columbus Cookie Classic back to Seventh Son Brewing for another afternoon of competition, community, charity… and above all, COOKIES. 🍪🏆

Chocolate chip will be back on the menu, and we’re looking for Columbus’ most passionate amateur bakers to step up to the plate.

We were so delighted to be able to highlight and support at the Columbus Baking Classic! 100% of Taster Ticket Sales are donated to causes close to our hearts, supporting our local community.
We heard from Jeremy and Isabella and learned about all the good CRIS does for our local immigrant and refugee community!
The $1200 we raised from our sweet event will be going toward their Emergency Food Fund to help families when they are in unexpected situations. We are so grateful for the work CRIS is doing for our most vulnerable and valued neighbors! 🫶
