Wood sculptures continue to be one of my favorite projects in my after school class-probably because that’s what I did the most when I was in college! The kids continue to impress me with their ingenuity: check out the drum set and and interactive fidget sculpture! These will get painted in a couple weeks so stay tuned!

My art room is out of control again! I didn’t have time for a full clean/organization, but I did reclaim my work table and clear a path in and out of the room! It’s nice to be able to just walk in and start working without having to summit a mountain of art supplies first 😂 🏔️🧗‍♂️🎨

We had the best time making egg creatures .lc for their Easter event! Thank you to everyone that stopped at our table to make art with us 🎨.

CheckART is hiring occasional part-time assistants for private parties and public events! If you love working with kids, have reliable transportation, and are energetic and responsible, we’d love to add you to our roster.

No artistic experience needed — just a great attitude and the ability to jump in and help create art magic with children of all ages!

We work both indoors and outdoors, so you’ll need to be comfortable on your feet and ready for anything. Perfect gig for teachers, artists, students, or anyone who enjoys spreading creativity on a flexible, as-needed basis.

We made our own games in my after school class this week! Flying Fairies, Wizard Wars, “Nome Locher” (aka Gnome Launcher-gotta love a 1st grader’s phonetic spelling 💛).

The kids made up their own rules for their games, along with all kinds of different game pieces: mustached Wizards that rule over everything, sparkle fairies that give you extra life, super-powered catapults that fling fairies and gnomes all over the place!

We worked on this project for two class sessions, a total of 2 hours, and it never ceases to amaze me how much kids can accomplish in such a short amount of time. Just give them some fun art materials, the freedom to explore those materials in their own way, and their creativity knows no bounds!
