Did you know that chargers only fit on certain size tables? Did you know if you have chargers, you can’t “squeeze” an extra person at that one table? Did you know you can use dinner plate at each setting instead? Did you know that some venues/caterers use B&B plates for every guest, and some out one per table? So many options, and so many factors go into setting the table!

This was my first wedding at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Bexley, and it was beautiful! I would say about a quarter (maybe even less) of our weddings take place in a church these days. Sadly, many churches prefer not to work with planners because of stereotypes or past bad experiences (which I get), but one of my many skills is knowing my place in a church 😂

My intent is never to overstep or impose my will, it’s to support the couple and their families - to make sure they are stress-free on their big day. And, to be there to line people up in the correct order and answer questions. Unless otherwise needed, you can find me with my mouth shut in the back pew 😆

Last weekend’s wedding was (nearly) flawless! It’s the first time in awhile that something didn’t break, get lost, stop working, accidentally happen…no EMTs we’re called, all the vendors showed up and nailed it, and I didn’t run one time. I did have to sew the MOH into her dress (it was too big) but otherwise, no “emergencies”! I’ll take it 🙌🏼

Do you need even numbers on each side of your bridal party? NO, you don’t even need a bridal party if you don’t want one! You can only have family in the wedding and do something special with your friends instead. You can have 10 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen (you know who you are 😉). You can have anybody on either side (no need to be gender specific - if you want your brother standing on the bride’s side, do it!).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Got these two officially hitched and properly celebrated this weekend…I couldn’t be happier for them, and I’m humbled to be a part of their circle. 💕 These two are kind-hearted, generous, driven, and loyal…the kind of people you want your kids to grow up to be like. Emilee gave me the nicest shout out in her toast this weekend; she nearly made me cry (happy tears!) 🥰 They have such wonderful families surrounding them, it’s no surprise they are who they are today. Their appreciation this weekend gave me new energy for the year to come, I’m so lucky they chose me to go on this (extra long) journey with them!! I can’t wait to see the photos and video, and share more of their story!!

Style: Classy, but simple. Not over the top, but with well thought out, and deliberate details. Comfortable.

The day was perfect. It was cold (as you’d expect in February), but it wasn’t freezing and there was a hint of snow flurries in the air every once in a while. The bride and groom were so easy-going, soaking in every moment from getting ready to the last song at the end of the night.

Their ceremony was intimate and beautiful, unique in the venue alone! Their getaway car was a hit – it gave the bride and groom time to spend together alone, which so many couples don’t get. I heard their driver was pretty cool too!

We had to work with the floral team to get some of the ceremony florals to the reception, so there might have been a bit of running behind the scenes, but the reception details were exactly what we envisioned. Lush velvet linens (like butter!) with a simple scalloped plate topped with the perfect menu. Guests couldn’t stop gushing over the food, drink, and unique entertainment!
