7/8/25 Update: Beckham got adopted!!! Happy tails Beckham!

🐾 Meet Adoptable Beckham! 🐾
This sweet, wiggly girl is ready to steal your heart! Beckham is a 1-year-old mixed breed who weighs in at 44 lbs and has a personality as big as her puppy energy. She is available for adoption at CHA Animal Shelter in Columbus, Ohio. 💛

She came to CHA Animal Shelter through a partnership with the ASPCA after being transferred from a shelter in West Virginia that was impacted by a natural disaster.

Beckham is affectionate and playful! She lives for attention, loves playing with other dogs, and would make a fantastic adventure buddy.

She still has some puppy behavior, so she’s looking for a home with older children who can help her continue her training with lots of love and positive reinforcement.

This happy, spunky 1-year-old mixed breed is available for adoption at CHA Animal Shelter in Columbus, Ohio and she’s one of my absolute favorites. 💛

Gamera literally found her way to CHA—she was running loose near the shelter and walked right through the front doors like she knew exactly where she belonged.

She’s full of love, energy, and charm. Gamera adores people and thrives on affection. She’s treat-motivated (especially during photo sessions!), super expressive, and a natural in front of the camera.

Gamera is looking for a home where she can be your one and only pet—because she prefers to soak up all the love herself!

🎆 Fireworks & Furry Friends: Safety Tips for the 4th of July 🐾

Did you know more dogs go missing around the 4th of July than any other time of year? Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be terrifying for dogs.

Keep your pup safe with these quick tips:
✅ Keep your dog indoors during fireworks
✅ Provide a safe space like a crate or quiet room
✅ Close windows & curtains to reduce noise and light
✅ Walk them before dusk so they don’t need out later
✅ Make sure their collar, ID tag & microchip are up to date
✅ Play calming music to soothe anxiety
✅ Keep their water bowl full—nervous dogs get thirsty
✅ Be a calm, reassuring presence if you're home
✅ If leaving, stay casual—no dramatic goodbyes

🐾 A Special Session for a Very Loved Pup 🐾
I had the honor of photographing Alyssa, Paul, and their dogs Max, Finn, and Jessie during a recent family session.

Max hasn’t been feeling like himself lately, and his family wanted to celebrate him with a Legacy Session – capturing all the love and joy he brings. ❤️

He was having a great day, and we created beautiful memories together at one of their favorite spots in Granville, Ohio. Sessions like these remind me just how deep the bond is between pets and their people. I’m so grateful to help preserve these moments.

🐾 Meet Adoptable Kiva! 🐾
Kiva is a 7 year-old mixed breed dog who weighs 61 lbs. She is at CHA Animal Shelter in Columbus, Ohio and is patiently waiting for her forever home. Kiva is a calm, independent girl who loves to sniff and explore everything. She always enjoys her walks and has great leash manners.

Kiva does well with other dogs, but she prefers to coexist rather than play. She is a quiet, gentle lady who is looking for a comfy couch to snooze on. Come meet Kiva and her adorable powder sugar face today! 🐶

I absolutely loved working with Leah and her dog Zen in the studio! ❤

One of my favorite things about pet photography is capturing the bond between pets and their people — and Leah and Zen were the perfect pair.

Zen's personality shone bright in his portraits and I loved capturing the two of them together. For their session, Leah had mentioned wanting to incorporate a Burberry-inspired collar and bow tie for Zen. Leah's sweater and glasses complemented his look perfectly and they looked stunning on the red backdrop. We also captured portraits on a soft blue and our timeless white brick wall for a variety of classic looks.
