It's only right to question where all the money is going with so many orgs and individuals fund raising in light of the Ebola crisis. To answer that question, and exactly how the money raised by Mamawa, Inc. and the Sierra Leone Watershed Project will be spent, with us, your contributions will reach the Kenema Hospital in Sierra Leone THIS Saturday. We've teamed up with Jo Dunlop, a Unicef Sierra Leone worker with ten years of experience in health and humanitarian aid, to launch the "Fashion Does Good" campaign. The idea for the campaign was inspired by a post on Jo's colorful blog about Sierra Leone fashion, "Freetown Fashpack." Published just last week, Jo's post "Human Tales of Ebola" recounts the experience of nurses/patients at the Kenema Government Hospital. We reached out to her, and with her help and advice of a British doctor currently in Kenema, came up with a list of critical items needed in the Ebola ward at the hospital. International aid is yet to arrive there she advises, and with flights getting cancelled, the aid situation does not look promising. Jo is traveling back to Kenema on Saturday 8/9, and with about 48 hours left to give, please contribute so she doesn't travel empty handed and will be able to purchase and provide these critical items needed. All donations are tax deductible.
