Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of coming alongside Maurice Womack, creator of Boy Genius, for LEGO and Literacy! This was such a creative blend of fun and learning, while exposing kids to STEM concepts and the importance of a male presence in Pre-K classrooms.

The lineup of speakers was awesome and impactful! Commissioner Erica Crawley, Javier Sanchez, Ervan Rodgers II, Stanley Johnson, and Iddrisu Seidu really set the stage for a supportive environment.

The Whitehall Shine Bright Center was the perfect space for this! Thank you to Craig Fowlkes and Good Time Mascots for bringing this space to life, and special thanks to Chosen Few Vette Club, Donatos Pizza and Second & 7 for the LEGO kits, pizza and book donations!

Can't wait to do this again in the summer time. Thank you so much Maurice for the opportunity to support this effort!! You are really on to something great in bringing out the genius in our boys and girls. ✨️💡💪🏽😎📖

I love what I do!!! Supporting our clients brings us joy. What brings us EVEN MORE joy is when their events bring the community together to lift up our young people. The past Saturday, we had the pleasure of coming alongside the Department of Neighborhoods Columbus for the 25th Annual MLK Youth Oratorical Contest. This year's contestants were outstanding at usual...these kids are so inspiring, and I know they will go on to do great things.

Special thanks to moderators Sheri-Lynn Wynn and Vincent A. Hill, M.A., and to all the volunteer judges who had the hard job of deciding who will advance to the State Contest in April. During the awards ceremony, former CRC Director Jim Stowe - one of the original City of Columbus contest founders - provided us with some words of reflection and congratulations, J. Averi Frost gave us some insight into the State MLK Holiday Commission's efforts, and Cynthia Amoah graced us with an amazing poem to commemorate the day.

Thank you to Columbus State Community College for hosting us, Dos Hermanos Taco Truck for providing lunch, and Craig Fowlkes for providing us with a beautiful backdrop for the occasion!

I hope in the years to come, more parents, teachers and program coordinators get their youth involved in this contest! ✨️ Public speaking is a skill and an art that I think will have so much more value in the years ahead. Kudos to the Department for keeping this going, 25 years strong!!

Columbus residents braved freezing temperatures to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, marching down Long Street and gathering inside the Lincoln Theatre.

One Dream, Many Voices!! Yesterday's City of Columbus - City Hall MLK Day Celebration was warm... despite the frigid temperatures outside; peaceful... despite the turmoil in our world; and moving... despite the seeming lack of progress towards equity for all. It was our honor to come alongside the Department of Neighborhoods Columbus for the 2026 MLK Day March and Celebration at the Historic Lincoln Theatre! Special thank you to St. Paul AME Church for providing a safe place for the Community to begin the March, and for the East High School Marching Tigers for their presence!

My heart and mind was full after hearing MLK's dream echoed through the many voices that graced the stage: Tracy Townsend, Dr. E Richardson, Karen Hewitt, Carlos Rivera Fernandez, Shannon Isom, US Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, Councilmember Nancy Day-Achauer, Director Yakima J. Douglas, Rev. Gertrude Komani, and Dr. Howard T. Washington. My eyes and ears were blessed to witness the POWERFUL ministry of Dance E.L.I.T.E. Performance Academy and the Central State University Chorus........just WOW....such amazing voices. The MLK Honorees this year were trailblazers Samuel Gresham Jr., Ann B. Walker, and Les Wright - their impact on our community is still felt today.

Supporting the event backstage is always my pleasure - working with CTV and the Tech Team at the Lincoln was awesome!! Thank you to my Paraclete team for keeping everything flowing, and the Department of Neighborhoods' Staff for really showed up in support of the day. You all's team is incredible, and we appreciate the opportunity, once again, to support this important day of service and reflection.

On December 10th, we had the pleasure of coming alongside Amazon for its first Central Ohio Community Collaborator Event. Carolyn Jackson, MBA has been so amazing to work with, and we were so excited to be able to make this breakfast celebration a reality!

Special thanks to Craig Fowlkes for your support and providing the decor, Market Bloom for the stunning flowers, and Tamieka Lynn Cobb at 36 Catering by Chef Mieka for the delicious breakfast! We also had Reva Franklin with Revalue Photo Booths capturing all the fun moments.

The space at the AEP STEM Center at Camp Ken Jockety was perfect, and their staff was so hospitable! Highlights of the event were all the amazing organizations who were honored, and the Dignity Kits that were assembled onsite. People loved being able to give back, and the energy and support we received for that activity was so wonderful.

Thank you so much again for the opportunity, and we look forward to next time!

As we move into our 6th year in business, I'm reflecting on what a GIFT this journey has been! As hard as it can be sometimes, the reward of seeing how our support impacts our clients on event day makes it all worth it. The fact that I GET to do this is still so surreal!

May you all take time to just "take it all in"......the successes, the challenges, the revelations and the rewards - both in business and in life - because it's all connected. Hold your loved ones close, be in the moment, and don't take anything (or anyone) for granted....ever. Wishing you many blessings as we push forward into 2026 with peace and joy, in the midst of it all. ✨️

Coming from a family-filled holiday, it's only fitting that I share now about an opportunity we had earlier this month. It was our pleasure to come alongside the historic Second Baptist Church Columbus Ohio for REFRESH: A Church Family Experience!

This was a beautiful celebration, showing appreciation for members with various activities provided to refresh, restore, and provide relaxation. A delicious dinner was served by Fia Gates. The Elijah Pierce Art Gallery at the King Arts Complex was transformed into a live Jazz lounge with two amazing sets from the Ken Weaver Quartet. There were chair massages, a photo booth, card games, arts and crafts and a video game truck for the kids, and an inspirational video playing throughout the evening. And no gathering is complete without line dancing!...courtesy of Derek Payne.

On Wednesday, it was our JOY to come alongside Franklin County RISE and many amazing partners to execute the 2nd Annual RISE & Thrive: Bringing Joy Back to Early Learning Summit. What a fitting name for what took place that day!! ☀️

Nearly 200 educators, administrators and partners gathered to learn equity-based, inclusive, family-oriented, and sustainable approaches to enhance their teaching practices. The Keynote Presentation was delivered by author, Dr. Gholdy Muhammad, who shared about illuminating the GENIUS in our children, and not only elevating their skills. The historic references she used were sooo eye-opening!

Thank you Javier Sanchez for being our MC, keeping the momentum going all day, and gracing us with your talent! To the many speakers who presented workshops throughout the day, your efforts are appreciated!

To Erica Womack, Commissioner Erica Crawley, Brittany Jackson of Future Ready Five, Jennifer Walton of Sky Nile Consulting - thank you so much again for the opportunity to support. Conferences aren't just a one-day splash, but a months-long process to develop and perfect. The best part is the lasting impact this day will make in our community. Conferences abound!! This past week the Paraclete Team has been buzzing! Last Saturday, we were proud to come alongside the Dress for Success Columbus team to execute the Level Up Summit for the 3rd year in a row. This professional and personal development experience never hesitates to deliver.

The day consisted of so many outstanding breakout sessions, an inspiring fashion show, great Pop Up Shop fashion finds, professional headshots and makeovers, phenomenal food by Rachel's Famous, and.... wow.... the Keynote presentation by Ashanti L Lancaster had us all realizing just how UNSTOPPABLE we truly are. A bonus for me was seeing my sister rip the runway!!
