I'm a classically trained musician with decades of experience playing and teaching. Each session is improvised with no two alike... All you have to do is relax and let the sounds wash over you, guiding you into deep relaxation. Leave your troubles at the door and emerge feeling rejuvenated and refreshed!

What is a sound bath? Good question!

A sound bath is a profoundly relaxing acoustic experience. You’ll lay on a yoga mat or sit comfortably and be surrounded by a live soundscape played by an experienced musician. This experience is designed to slow your brain waves, inducing relaxation and a meditative state. Gongs, singing bowls and other drone instruments will weave a 75-minute sonic tapestry that ensures rest, insight, and transformation.

If you’re feeling a bit stressed or simply craving some stillness, I’d love for you to join me tomorrow evening for a session on Body Scan & Progressive Muscle Relaxation as part of our beginner-friendly meditation group. This relaxing technique is about slowing down, letting go of tension, and reconnecting with your body and breath in a gentle, intentional way.

The practice itself is simple but powerful. You’ll be guided through a "body scan" to bring awareness to subtle physical feelings and tension, followed by practicing progressive muscle relaxation to release that tension from head to toe. It’s a great way to reset and create a sense of calm. No need for prior experience or any special equipment, and it's a technique you can easily integrate into your practice.

I'm so grateful to get to spend time crafting these little bubbles of calm, and to share them with others.

Last night's sound bath at Fit Columbia was special for many reasons: so many familiar faces from past art & sound events! We really are building a community. And plenty of new faces, too! Honored to have had you all join me.

It also happened to fall on the night of the total lunar eclipse, so we focused our attention on bringing our many selves into alignment. We wear so many hats: friend, parent, spouse, child, worker, student, expert, neighbor... the list goes on. It was special to take a moment to be whole, just as we are, with no expectations. It's amazing how sound can help us cut the noise...

Everyone hung out for a while afterward, talking about the instruments, the study of sound at the intersection of neuroscience, math & nature, and how we all exist in relationship to one another.

What a beautiful evening.
