Today, I realized, was an important day of reflection on a lot of growth since the legal chapter of my story came to a close.

The hardest part of knowing there’s much still to do… is learning to embrace the limitations of the moment.

My large hobby collection is coming in handy right now.

This audio from The Owl House has always reminded me of the complicated feelings that come with detaching yourself from an identity you built around someone else.

There is very little left that feels familiar once you start to heal from complete surrender of self.

And it’s ok to miss the way you used to feel when you weren’t your own person. Just don’t let that feeling trick you into thinking you made a mistake by breaking away.

It’s the spirit of moving forward and the beauty of discovering who you are deep down that will prove it’s all worth it in the end. I promise.

Terrifying as it may be, I wanted to share a bit of my voice with you all today. For those who need to hear it most: Keep moving forward.

Getting major dejavú from the eras of college and internship applications. I’ve spent a lot of time checking out the pages of literary agents, researching the kinds of work they’re looking to represent, and customizing my applications for each of them (because none of them wants the same info the same way).

I’ve heard it’s wise to submit a large volume of queries because of the high rejection rates in this world. So I’m hardly finished with the submissions stage. But I’m not submitting anything without checking that I’d be a good fit first.

Can’t tag her, but major thanks to Avery Alsup for taking the time to proofread and edit my baseline materials.

I’ll find out in roughly 1-3 months if I am as ready as I think I am to move forward with representation.

Sure, I can write 66,000+ words detailing my journey from indoctrinated family cult member to independent society member. But to give that journey a name? That’s gonna take me a bit longer.

I am currently seeking editors or literary agents interested in a memoir about growing up in (and rebuilding my life after) a family cult.

Hello, all my wonderful friends and followers!
Many of you may know that I’ve been working hard on my debut memoir, but I’ve recently been advised that it would be wise to dedicate various social media accounts to documenting my process and progress. I’ve decided this page will become the Facebook place for my author updates.
I’m still working two jobs, so bear with me as I find my rhythm and timing, but I intend to be much more active on here as I focus on forging ahead into the wide world of publication!

This is your sign to come see Twelfth Night in October (it's The Lord Chamberlain's Men's first U.S. tour!)

Article by yours truly.

There is often talk of the timelessness and connective power that different works of art may boast. Arguably, few works are more timeless than those penned by The Bard himself, William Shakespeare. On October 29, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men tour [...]
