There’s something so special about a venue that feels like it was thoughtfully created with couples in mind. 🤍

Still Waters Ranch offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and country elegance, with beautiful views, plenty of photo-worthy spots, and a ceremony space featuring real wooden pews that add so much character.

I also love that they welcome all vendors and have an incredible collection of decor available to couples at no additional cost—from tablecloths and chair covers to florals and other thoughtful details. It’s those little touches that show just how much care the owners have poured into creating this space.

You can really see the thought and care the owners have put into creating this space. From the property itself to the thoughtful details throughout, everything feels intentional, welcoming, and full of character. I truly appreciate the heart behind creating a place where couples can celebrate such meaningful moments. ✨

A little behind-the-scenes moment outside of coordinating.

Over the past several months, has quickly become one of my go-to bridal shops in the area, and recently I had the opportunity to experience their work from another perspective.

My husband needed a suit for an upcoming wedding, and it was wonderful to see the care they bring not only to their bridal clients, but also to their suit services. I was impressed by the care and attention to detail they brought to the experience.

What stood out to me was that this same level of service wasn’t reserved only for the couple—it was extended to a wedding guest preparing to celebrate someone else’s special day.

One of the things I appreciate most about wedding professionals is the thoughtfulness that happens before the wedding day ever arrives. The guidance, the details, and the confidence people feel while preparing all become part of the experience.

Every coordinator has their tools of the trade.

For me, that includes timelines, checklists, emergency supplies… and occasionally a handmade apron designed to keep the essentials close while moving through a wedding day.

This one was a first attempt and it may need a few improvements before its next appearance, but it did exactly what I needed it to do when it mattered.

Wedding coordination is a hands-on role. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes—adjusting details, solving small problems, and making sure the day keeps moving smoothly.

The little things matter, and sometimes the little things you create yourself become part of the story too.

A beautiful evening connecting with the people who help make wedding days possible.

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend a vendor gathering hosted by at the owners beautiful new barn.

Despite the smoky skies from the Colorado fires, it was a wonderful evening spent meeting other wedding professionals, sharing conversations, and getting to know the families behind the businesses.

One of my favorite parts of this industry is the community built behind the scenes. Every wedding is a collaboration of talented people bringing their craft, experience, and care together to create something meaningful.

A wedding coordinator's job requires a surprising variety of skills.

Timelines, logistics, vendor communication, problem-solving… and occasionally, floral design.

Late in the evening, the bride decided she'd love to do a bouquet toss after all. Thankfully, there were a few extra blooms available, and within a few minutes, a bouquet was ready to go.

Moments like this are a good reminder that coordinators often wear many hats on a wedding day. We prepare for the expected, adapt to the unexpected, and do our best to make those last-minute wishes possible.

This bouquet wasn't part of the original plan, but it became a joyful addition to the evening and a sweet ending to a beautiful celebration.

Some weddings are remembered for the flowers, the dancing, or the sunset.

This one will always be remembered for the wind.

With gusts reaching nearly 30 mph before and during the ceremony, there were a few moments when it felt like Colorado had plans of its own. Hair and veils danced in the breeze, and we all did our best to keep things in place.

But that's one of the things I love about weddings and the people who make them happen. Vendors adapt. Plans shift. We make adjustments, take a deep breath, and keep moving forward.

And in the end, the ceremony still happened. The vows were exchanged. The father walked his daughter down the aisle. The joy of the day wasn't diminished one bit.

The wind eventually settled down for the reception… of course. 😉

Sometimes the unexpected simply becomes part of the story, and this beautiful, very windy Colorado wedding is one I won't soon forget.

From the Shire to the Aisle — An Unexpected Journey Continues

Another wedding has been added to the books, along with another 7 miles walked between rehearsal and wedding day.

The miles come quietly in this profession. A walk to check on the ceremony setup. A trip to greet vendors. A quick run to find a missing item. A few more steps to fluff a dress, cue the processional, or make sure everyone is where they need to be.

One wedding at a time, the journey continues.

Total miles walked: ~14.5

11.5 miles to go until I reach the edge of the Shire.

As we approach another Fourth of July, I find myself reflecting on the weight of history carried within this day.

Two hundred and fifty years of resilience, sacrifice, and change have shaped the country we live in today. Independence Day is not only a time of celebration, but also a moment to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this nation, and those who have faithfully served across generations.

There is something meaningful about the way people come together to celebrate—gathering with intention, creating space for connection, and honoring traditions that bring meaning to the moment. Behind every gathering, there is structure and care that allows those moments to be fully experienced.

Wishing you a thoughtful and beautiful Independence Day as you spend time with the people you love.

Some of the most meaningful moments on a wedding day happen quietly.

A father seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.

A hand squeezed before walking down the aisle.

A private conversation before the ceremony begins.

Behind these moments is a lifetime of memories, lessons, sacrifices, and love.

As a coordinator, I have the privilege of witnessing these moments and being reminded just how important fathers are—not only on a wedding day, but in the countless days that come before it.

Today, we celebrate the fathers and father figures who have guided, supported, encouraged, and loved their families through every season of life.

And for those missing their dad today, may the memories you shared be a blessing.
