Yesterday, we had the honor of traveling to Ladysmith and catered a lovely 50th year anniversary celebration for a couple of dear friends. We had a wonderful time. And....It was our 1st outing with the new Denson's Catering Van. We began with a slate of Charcuterie. The Dinner included Denson's Crab Cakes, Braised Beef Tenderloin, Yukon Gold/Roasted Garlic Mash, Kite's Country Ham Seasoned Green Beans, Yeast Rolls w/sweet cream butter, and a Garden Salad featuring Greenswell Growers Spring Mix. And Dessert,,,,Carrot Cake and Chocolate Mousse Cake

It's been a while since a Denson's update, So here we go!
Between Private Dinners, Crab Cake Sales, Box Lunches and deliveries, it's been a very busy Summer for us, yet very manageable, which allowed us to spend time with loved ones and travel. It's been a very nice transition from a successful Brick and Mortar Restaurant and Food Truck. Our deliveries have ramped up, which demanded us to purchase a new delivery vehicle. The Green 'Grocery Wagon' Ford Expedition has seen better days, although it still runs well. Unfortunately, we have nowhere on the lot to keep it, so, we will be putting it up for sale. Our New (To Us) delivery vehicle is a 2023 Dodge Promaster High Top Cargo Van. Really nice, we can stand up in it, and has tons of room. It will do us well with Caterings and Deliveries, and will soon be sent for installation of Denson's Crab Cake Co Graphics, Can't wait!
Which brings us to what is on our horizon. Once cooler weather begins moving in, we will restart our 'Dinners for One'. Many of you may remember this. Our 'Target Market' will be the Colonial Beach area, including Westmoreland and Potomac Shores,and it will include 'Free Delivery'. in the new Denson Van! So many folks don't like to venture out during the cold weather months. We will be keeping it affordable. We are thinking in the $12 to $15 range including taxes, plus free delivery. Some of our offerings will be Rocky's Homemade Soups with Sandwich Sliders. Also, 'Comfort Food' including Meatloaf, Roasted Chicken Breast, Pork Tenderloin and More, and will INCLUDE 2 Sides. Don't worry, we won't be 'Skimping' to keep the price low. This will be a needed service for our area, and we are looking forward to kicking it off.
We also have a couple of other ventures that we will fill you in on after the 1st of the year.

We had a few deliveries early yesterday. In addition to our Crab Cakes, Blue Crab Claw Dip, and our Blue Crab Breakfast Quiche, our Country Ham Biscuits have been an extremely popular menu item. Thinly Sliced and tender! It's all about the Country Ham. We exclusively use Kite's Country Ham for our biscuits. Kite's Hams is a family owned business, located in Wolftown, Madison County, Virginia. You can truly taste the difference from the products that are mass produced. There is much care and love that is put into crafting each Kite's ham. And if you add a little bit of Denson's Pimento Cheese, and a 'Schmear' of Fig Jam...WOW! Order yours through [email protected]

We take the time to make sure our Box lunches stand out. Even down to the condiments, we use quality. Duke's Mayo, French's Mustard, Boar's Head Pub Style Horsey Sauce. Home Grown Garner's Tomatoes (When In-Season) and crispy Green Leaf Lettuce (Bagged Individually to keep your sandwich from getting soggy. The Utensils, always heavy duty! When you order Chips as your side, we make a call to the best chip distributor around. That would be our friend Dennis Harrington, and Herr's Chips. We love doing this!

Just a reminder that we are currently taking orders for delivery this Friday, August 1.
We have attached our menu. Orders should be placed through [email protected] All prices include State and Local Taxes. There is NO delivery fee because Rocky is making the deliveries and he likes getting out and about! Our Delivery area includes the Town of Colonial Beach, The Shores, King George, and Fredericksburg.
If you plan to order, please do so by tomorrow so we can get everything prepared in a timely manner!

Our Summer Break is coming to a close, and we will be back to Box Lunches and Crab Cakes next week. Considering all of the fresh veggies and fruits that are now available from our Rich and Fertile Northern Neck, it's a pretty good time to enjoy a traditional Summer Meal with Denson's Crab Cakes. If you live in Colonial Beach, Bowling Green, King George, or Fredericksburg, we can make a delivery next Friday, August 1. Keep in mind.....No Delivery Charge!

UPDATE:
New Denson's Crab Cake Company Tee-Shirts have been ordered and will be arriving soon. They will be available to ship from our website. Very simple style. Short Sleeve and Denson's Crab Cake Co logo with Northern Neck, Virginia on front.
The Bottling of our Crab Cake Mix. We are still working though this. In addition to our Health Department certification, we will also need to be certified through VDACS. This probably will not happen until August. We are also re-examining our retail bottles and labeling. it's going to need to 'Jump Out'. We also need to take our time with this and have our ducks in a row. We are hoping to become a 'Made in Virginia' product and participate in the 2026 Made in Virginia Food Show in Richmond. We have a lot of caterings and events through the end of 2025, so expect a 2026 launch. For those that live outside our region, and have been inquiring about us shipping our Crab Cakes, this will be a wonderful option for you. The Shipping of Crab Cakes is a slippery slope. In addition to shipping costs, proper refrigeration is a concern, so we have decided to put that idea to rest. We will be adding our mix to the On-Line Store, and will be able to ship throughout the country. Just make sure that you have a good seafood market near you that offers Fresh Blue Crab. We will help you with the rest.
